Transmission Number

The number on my transmission is: 853853-1

The engine in my '40 is a P-11 engine

Can someone tell me if my tranny is a '40 or later tranny?

I must be brain dead, after I posted my question, I remembered that I have a parts book with all the part numbers. Low and behold, it is a 1940 Tranny,

853 853 is a 1940 and 41 tranny. p9-10 and p11-12 so the book says.

looks like you have a 41 engine /tranny/ combo install along the way , some years ago maybe.

bob..there is another part numbr on the rear snout extension...it has a different #....for 40 and 41.. maybe a different ratio!!!
