Wire An Alternator

OLD MAN WOOD

Recommended Posts

you may want to read this artical first. I have a one wire on a 57 chev and have very little electrical draw on that car and have no problems (yet). I also have a one wire on a 46 chev that has the normal street rod up dates. I have had several power failures where I actually pulled the battery down to less then 10 volts and everything went dead. I lost my lights, motor died, that was scary on a two lane road doing 70 mph and lost of traffic.

Iam street rodding a 46 p-15, it will have a 3 wire alternator. If you read this all the way threw and see how the two are wired and the disadvantages of the one wire you may change you mind.

But each to there own, good luck
