Carburetor hesitation help needed

Recommended Posts

I thought you might want to know I found the reason for the hesitation. It wasn't the carb or accelerator pump, it was the distributor springs being to tight. The springs had been messed with and were to tight not allowing any mechanical advance off of idle. I loosened the springs up as far as I could without them just laying there loose and I still only have about half the advance that I am supposed to get (10 degrees at 2,200 rpm,) but the hesitation is gone. So it looks like I need some springs with less tension. Does anyone know were I can find someone that has springs for this distributor in different tensions? Or can someone tell me how to set up the springs correctly? I did some searching but didn't find much.

Thanks again for all the help diagnosing the problem!
