townwagon Posted November 11, 2008 Report Posted November 11, 2008 Guys, I have written the Canadian tag page that I was asking for help for, look here to see it: http://www.t137.com/registry/help/canadiantags/canadiantags.htm If anyone has any information on the eras I am not quite sure of, like the exact year the 1939-47 Canadian built tags changed from no HP listed to having the HP listed I would be grateful. Let me know if you have any suggestions on how to make this page more useful. Thanks, Eric Quote
Bob_Koch Posted November 12, 2008 Report Posted November 12, 2008 Just a note to thank you for doing this. It's a great service to all of us. I don't know how many times I've used your site to decode an engine number. I've put a link to your decoding pages on the DPETCA webpage. Quote
townwagon Posted November 12, 2008 Author Report Posted November 12, 2008 It takes a lot of time and effort to create these pages, as simple as they may seem, so I appreciate the acknowledgment. The decoder itself where you can enter your Serial Number and get a display of the model and year of truck was created by Phil Street, the owner of t137.com I am the technical information person for the serial numbers, he writes the computer code so it all works. He and I have been working for years on getting the decoder up to speed, so anyone can enter any Serial Number up to 1980, and get an answer. We are far from done, but someday we will get there. Our current project is to get all models covered from 1970 to 1980 (the current decoder only covers the D and W series trucks, not the larger C series (LCF) or M Series (motor home). After that we will move on to 1960-69, and then even further back. Eric Quote
