Savoy Boy Posted October 5, 2008 Report Posted October 5, 2008 The 'new' motor in the Plymouth dropped a frost plug and did some serious damage. Plans are to now repower it with late model running gear. For the time being it has been put into storage and will get looked at in a few months when everything else that needs to be done around here is attended to. Before it got put away a couple of things got done that made it look much better. The original taillight housings were painted body colour with the reverse light lens being cracked on the inside. The surrounds and reverse light lens were repainted in silver and the red reflector replaced with a blue dot lens. The blue dot is wired using a dual filament bulb so it comes on with the tail lights and then gets brighter when the brakes or indicators are used. I tried to get a pic with the lights on but sorry they didn't come out very well. The second thing we did was repaint a spare steering wheel we had in a cream as we felt there was too much of the blue/purple colour. Yes, it needs a new horn ring. Just thought some of you might like to see these. Quote
PatS.... Posted October 5, 2008 Report Posted October 5, 2008 Sorry to hear of the engine passing I like the white wheel, kinda sets everything off nicely. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted October 5, 2008 Report Posted October 5, 2008 Both items look good. Good luck on the future engine transplant. Quote
