woodscavenger Posted August 20, 2008 Report Posted August 20, 2008 I have my truck stripped to the frame. Obviously now would be the time to redo the clutch if needed. How much play should there be in the clutch pedal? How much distance is needed to engage the clutch? Where is a good source for a new clutch setup? Quote
grey beard Posted August 20, 2008 Report Posted August 20, 2008 Shane, When you adjust your clutch, you do it using the two set screws on the outboard side of the pedal. You want a minimum of one inch of play at the top of the pedal before the clutch fork and throw-out bearing inside the bell housing touches the three fingers on your pressure plate. It's easy to feel by hand, especially if you have the cab off. If there is any side-to-side wobble in he clutch pedal, this is also a good time to address that - the pedal scrubs the floor boards when there is slop in the pedal eye and makes a horrible noise. We made a new bushing and an adjustment to secure the pedal to the shaft on mine. Good Luck Quote
