So I’m body off the frame at this point on my 50 Deluxe. I’m swapping out the rear end with disk and would like to do the front. I know there’s a ton of kits out there but I do all my own fabrication. I’m a junk yard dog in a sense. does anyone know what hub or rotor hub is used on the stock spindle. Any help would be great thx.

Well, I got the '48 off the ground for the first time to survey the status of the undercarriage. All pretty much looked like one would expect 70 year old stuff suspended just off of the ground to look - all of it needing some attention, but nothing urgent with the exception of the left king pin & bushings. The right one has a few thousands play, but the left one is about as floppy as it can get and still be attached to the spindle. I've done them on the '29 Ford. Any special knowledge I should have before pulling the spindles on the D-24? Also found only the right rear upper door hinge pin very loose. All of the others are solid. I am guessing I can just pull that hinge (its recessed in the center pillar). Any thoughts?

After racking my brain about the replacement king pin sets that I had gotten from Napa, and taking said parts with me to Tim's get together with the Canuck's and asking some Guru's, I finally called Andy's place and he had reaffirmed what I thought but didn't understand. Napa and Rock Auto list a king pin kit that is the same for Plymouth and Dodge. Those aren't correct for the Dodge cars. The upper bushing in the spindle is replaced with a needle bearing. Bernbaum sells a kit with a larger upper bushing to replace the larger diameter needle bearing. I just wanted to put this on here for anyone doing searches on this in the future.
