Hello. I have a 1950 Chrysler Windsor with a spitfire flathead. It runs well and the trans works great too. I recently had an amputation of my left leg. So i can no longer use my tip toe clutch and transmission. I want to keep my flathead, so is there any type or kind of automatic transmissions. Please help and thank you all

I am currently looking for transmission conversion options for my 1946 plymouth p15 club coupe. I am currently running the stock flathead six. I originally wanted a late model automatic overdrive transmission. I keep hearing there will be a reduction in horsepower. I have seen a few people using the t-5 transmission conversion. Does anyone have any REAL experience with the t-5 transmission conversion? I am open to other transmission swap options as well. My goal is to reach freeway speed of 65 to 70mph. Any guidance would be appreciated. Thanks!

I posted yesterday regarding a 383 conversion in my 1946 plymouth. My reasoning for the swap was for speed. I currently have the stock flathead six with a 12 volt conversion and the car is maxed out at 55 mph. I was thinking about using the wilcap transmission adapter and bolt in a 700r4 overdrive transmission. I was wondering if this transmission conversion will get me more speed. What other things could I do to get the stock flathead to hit 65-75mph? I have been told the transmission conversion with a change in the gearing would help. Just looking for some guidance. Thanks!
