I talked to a fellow at a car show in NH who is planning to get 16" wheels for his 48. He feels that this gives the car the right look and that the 15" wheels that come on a 48 aren't consistent with the original design of the car. That got me to thinking. Why did plymouth change over to the 15" wheels? Was it for cost savings? Improved performance? Improved ride? I understand that the circumference of the wheel and tire didn't change as a result of this and the odometer and speedometer remained unchanged for the 15's.
