  4. Hi I finally got a new pump for the desoto Now it works so well the carburettor has a water (petrol)feature going on I need a rebuild kit but can't seem to find one on eBay for a fluid drive carburettor Is this the carb number as I don't see any other numbers on it

  6. Wow just had a look on eBay pretty expensive them pumps postage is out of this world and I need two plus a carb rebuild kit for the desoto I could put a 6v electric pump on but that's not really the best I prefere original Anybody know where I can get some rebuild kits from?
  7. The gas is clean and free from trash Mind you the Plymouth one was fill of trash so I reckon that's toast as well Looks like I'll need a new pump or rebuild kit then Why does this always happen when you have a person coming to look at buying your car.........
  8. The one off the Plymouth didn't do this till I put it on the desoto
  9. Well after sorting the gear changing problems of the desoto I have been driving it daily.... But now the fuel pump is spitting fuel out of the little hole on the side I have changed it for the one of my 1950 Plymouth and still the same thing happens Any ideas to what's wrong
  10. Brilliant it's working today I lowered the idle down to around 450 And now it changes up in about 2 seconds that's so much better Thank-you all for your advice

Firstly hello from sunny Cornwall in the UK I have a 1947 desoto custom with a fluid drive transmission in really enjoying driving this car around But I'm having trouble with my gearbox In high range it is slow to change up I drive it as normal then when I want it to change up I have to lift off the gas and waiting at least ten seconds for the box to change up I have checked and topped up the oil level anybody have any ideas as to what's wrong with it thanks in advance
