oh ya the parking brake has some space around it so i dont think its that

im thinking it is the clutch release bearing. cause i took the trans out n there is ALOT of shavings in the bellhousing. n i replaced the master cyl for the brakes so the clutch adjustment got messed with. n it wouldnt suprise me in the least if the release bearing is worn out and or the clutch is out of adjustment. from what all of u r saying thats what it seems to be to me. n ya i checked the motor mounts, there good n they r tight. by the way thanks for all the help!

im pretty sure i checked the rearend trans and fluid coupling. buy ya ill doube check. it sounds like its coming from around the trans. n it happens when i have my foot off the clutch n im coasting down hill. i could be wrong but it doesnt seem like its a clutch adjustment cause it grabs n takes off fine... like it almost sounds like the fins in the fluid coupling r hitting each other some. have u hear of the bearing or bushing on the shaft going out n throwing off the alignment n it making that noise? or am i wrong? haha

i have a 48 dodge with a fliud drive trans. its making like a metalic grinding noise when i coast down hill with the clutch out. does any one have any suggestions as to whats up with it

hey id like to post a question about the trans on my 48 dodge coupe. its got a fluid drive tranny. i just got it together n going, took it for a test drive, n it makes a weird noise. so if i could post a question about it id be much appreciated. n i ya im really bad with computers n im tryin to figure out how to post to begin with
