  1. Have a chance to buy rust free 2000 4 door 2 wheel drive dakota. For great price. I know I would have to shorten it but just want to know if any one else used this new of a Dakota frame. I hear of people using older Dakotas but nothing this new.
  2. wondering if anyone has replaced the shackles with all right hand threads instead of 2 of each? Just seems simpler for future work. Can anyone tell me witch ones are the left hand thread ones so I know when I remove them?
  3. just wondering if anybody has drilled out the threaded holes for the wheel bolts and put studs in their place in doing this I can also get rid of left hand thread wheel bolts. Reason for this question I want to put different rims on and I would need longer bolts.
  4. is the inside of the mount smooth or threaded? I was under the impression that they where threaded. but you said that you filed the inside of mount so im guessing that they are smooth.
  5. are shackle hangers (the part riveted to frame) threaded on 52 dodge truck Just wondering if the are threaded. Previous owner made shackles out of bolts so I'm assuming if hanger brackets are threaded that threads would be junk. If they are junk any one else use a different style hanger off of newer vehicle? Any ideas greatly appreciated. Not looking to restore just want to get on road as cheap as possible.
  6. I know I have a 6 volt system. what happens if u run negative battery terminal to ground and positive to starter? (P.S. I did this already and have started truck wondering what I all screwed up now?)
  7. just wondering if a 1952 dodge truck is a positive ground or regular?
  8. Has anyone used these they look identical. Maybe a little bit shorter. Just wondering if any one used them and if they can be used on all four corners or if threads only allow one side? (From my searching some have left hand threads.)
  9. so I looked at the plunger. when I operate linkage with the top cover off the plunger goes down really slowly. (there is a space between top of spring and arm). If I push plunger down manually it squirts out gas threw the hole it is suppose to. not real sure if I put something together wrong after my friend and I cleaned it. I am guessing that the spring should push up against the arm?
  10. Any special oil or is motor oil ok?
  11. So I looked and I have a dribble not a squirt. Should it be a definite squirt?
  12. if I do not see a squirt of fuel when accelerating quickly what do I look for to fix the problem
  13. so far I have changed the condenser, points, plugs and clean the carb I have not tried playing with the fuel mixture screw it is two and a half turns out.that leather piece in the car seemed to make a good suction sound but not real familiar with what it does or how it should operate
  14. hello everyone. I just recently purchased a 52 dodge truck. I have been working on it for a couple of weeks it has been sitting in barn for 30 yrs. I got it running smooth after fighting stuck valve. Now I discovered a bog about mid throttle. I am not familiar with this old stuff but loving every minute of it. If I ramp it up real slow it will get to high RPM but if I stab it it will die. not sure where to start any help greatly appreciated.
