  1. Sounds great. Thanks for all the information. Tomorrow I will start measuring and pick up the hardware to do the job.
  2. I am getting ready to drill and tap the new holes in the bell housing to accept the tranny. Was wondering if anyone knows the proper drill and tap size to drill the new holes to? Thanks for any help.
  3. After reading all your comments and the ease of driving while moving down the road I think I will just keep it stock. I thought if it was an easy swap that it would put the turn signals, hazards, and high beams all on the GM connector for the wiring harness. Well thanks again for all the comments and now its back to brake lines and fuel lines!
  4. Thanks for the reply. I didn't realize it was one unit, that would make it a little more difficult. I have had this truck for 10 years and just want to get it on the road so I probably will just go with the stock setup and maybe put a smaller steering wheel on it. I hear they are not that difficult to steer if the front end is up to par.
  5. Just wondering if anyone has only thought or experience switching the stock steering column to an aftermarket with tilt? I have a 46 Dodge 1/2 ton with the 218. Trying to plan out the job and make it a little more enjoyable to drive! Thanks.
  6. I have a 46 Dodge WC 1/2 pickup with a 4.78 rear end in it. I just recently changed the inner and outter seal, but now I confused myself If the outer seal goes on after the backing plate or before the plate. The manual shows before the plate, but I looked at a picture on here that looked like it is after the backing plate. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
  7. I am working on a frame up project. It is a 1946 Dodge WC 1/2 pickup. I am getting ready to paint the frame, but am wondering if I should do anything with the rear end before I continue. I found some numbers and they are 663473-24 I also saw a CC stamped on the rear end. is it a 4.73 ratio and what is the 24 referring to? Is this a good rear to pair with the 218 flathead?
