  1. The back up switch on the convertible is the same as the 4 dr. It's on the left rear of transmission. The switch you have coming looks light an oil pressure activated switch. Maybe I'll give you a call this evening. My rear piece carpet just came in.
  2. That is odd. On my transmissions the neutral safety is on the left side with the back-up switch on the left rear. This switch looks like the brake light switch on my cars.
  3. I bought one on ebay last year. The neutral safety and back up light switch are both the same.
  4. I have 2 54 dodge Royals. They only came with the 241 Hemi and I dive mine on the freeway at 70-75 with no problems. I can't remember the RPM since they are in storage for the winter, but I think at 70 mph the rpm was about 3,700. They engines are all balanced when they were built, which is why you see no vibration dampener on the front of the crankshaft.
  5. Great job John. Does part 2 start with the car shows? Brian is building a new windshield for me and should have it done in a month. Bill from Propack will turn in a claim to the trucking company to cover the cost of the new windshield since it was obvious that the crate had been dropped and run into with a fork lift.
  6. You did a fantastic job on the car John. I hope I run into you somewhere. I found a grill for mine at Collectors Auto and Jeff started telling me about sending a guy the upper pieces with all the brackets. I told him you were the person that told me about him. I also found a steering wheel on ebay that only has 2 cracks in it. It is also off a meadowbrook.
  7. Did you put dual exhaust on this or just dual pipes on the end? I like your license plate holder. My windshield should be shipped back to me about the 8th of April and then when I get it I will trace the outline on the windshield on paper and send it out to get a new gasket made up. I'm working on the passenger front fender this week. If I don't run out of steam I should get it ready to paint.
  8. That's what I have noticed also. I won der if opening a 54 dodge royal convertible facebook page would help bring people together. I've got the dodge royal facebook page but only have people that know about the site viewing it. I had 1 wire going up behind the door latch but was not hooked to anything and I had no switch or slot for a switch in the panel. The panel may have been replaced and the wire disconnected long ago.
  9. Could this have been added by a previous owner or was it exclusive to the pace car since I have now switch on my regular 54 royal convertible. Iv'e been thinking we need to start a 54 dodge registration. It would be nice to find out how many of these are still out there and get a network of people together for info like this.
  10. Looking great. If you get bored you can come to Duluth and help me with mine.
  11. they look great John.
  12. Thanks fstsish66, I will give them a try.
  13. I wondered about that at one time but I have done a lot of body work and it definitely was yellow. The other thought I has was that the seats, doors, dash, interior & interior trim were all swapped out with the car that they used this for a part car on. That was so much work I cant believe they would do that.
  14. Thanks John for the info. This convertible has some weird colors. The exterior is yellow but the steering column, dash, & window trim are red with red and white seats. Not the color combo I would paint a new car. I looked at the upholstery site and the prices are much better. I may go with some yellow and black they have and use some white vinyl for the tops of the seats.
