  1. Have progressed a whole lot further with the project. Have bitten the bullet & picked up a running, registered and (most important in NZ with modified cars) certified 28 Model A roadster pickup. Currently running the Model A banger motor-with a turbo!!. Plan to run it for the summer & pull down over winter by which time I will have sourced (hopefully) a gearbox for my Dodge motor & given the motor a freshen up, along with an Edgy head, 2 carb manifold, & split exhaust. Still looking for anyone who may have put a flathead 6 in a Model A for tips regarding fitting it all in, or things NOT to do. I have attached a couple of pics.
  2. Thanks for your responses. Will chase up your suggestions and report back. Cheers
  3. HI there I have not long joined this site and am starting a project which is a little left of centre. I'm building a Model A roadster pickup with a (I think) 230 Dodge flat 6 and three speed that I pulled out of a 53 Dodge panel van that was imported into NZ by a friend of mine. He's going the smallblock/auto route. I am trying to identify the engine to confirm it is what is I think. The serial number is T334*II0C7* on the block and the head has 1405849-6 and the makings 11.12.53 so I am assuming it's an original block which would make it 230.6 ci. The head measures 23" in length. I am also looking for ideas on putting a later model manual gearbox behind it (options, adaptors etc) as I will be in the US in a few weeks for Speed Week at Bonneville and may have some time to chase up parts to bring home with me. Any help/ideas would be much appreciated Cheers, John
