Well, she called me back and told me she would not sign off on it and that I would have to take it up to the DMV and talk to them about it. She is from the Sheriff's office, so you know how they are. the 2 times before that it was registered with the serial number on the door in texas and alabama, NOW all of a sudden its a problem?????? I do appreciate everyone's advice.

The officer is trying to tell me the VIN plate on the Door and the Engine Number are suppose to match... I have a bill of sale along with the registration that have the Door VIN number on it and she wont sign off on it.

I am trying to register my 1950 Dodge Coronet in FL from alabama, but they are giving me a hard time about the VIN verification. The door Jam has a VIN plate and the officer is trying to tell me its not the original. She is also trying to tell me the Engine number is suppose to match the VIN PLATE on the Door. I tried to tell her thats not the case and then she is trying to tell me there is suppose to be another tag on the firewall that matches the VIN plate... - CAN ANYONE TELL ME IF THERE IS ANOTHER VIN LOCATION ON THE VEHICLE THAT WILL MATCH THE VIN PLATE?

I just thought I would throw this out there because I see alot of people lowering their cars and just wanted to get feedback on this. Instead of buying drop spindles, why cant you Flip the original spindles and rotate them to the opposite side? I have seen this done on other vehicles with success. I realize their will be a problem with the shock location. I also realize the flip and rotation would drop it roughly 6 inches. I am sure someone thought about this already or tried it, Any Comments or suggestions????

I was just wondering if anyone would know what the biggest size rim and tire will fit under a 1950 didge coronet with no modifications? I think 20 inch rims would be to big but I think 18's would fit without clearance problems??? Does anyone know or have they done this before? - Also has anyone seen the Mustang Bullitt rims on a 1950 Dodge ? - Do you think they would look good?

I know someone that may start producing Disc Brake conversion kits because the kits out there cost big $$$ and there is really not a cheap bolt on kit, but he wanted to make it affordable for you and him. The kit will include, bearings, new calipers, new rotors, new rubber brake lines, caliper mounting brackets for the front. The kit will be priced around $399.00.... If you think that is reasonable or not feel free to post it here. If you think you wont be interested or will be interested let me know. This is a rough estimate and may be lower, but it will not be any higher. The brake pads and Master Cylinder are Not included. I am having him make me a kit right now that will bolt right on, so I will see how it turns out.

I was wondering if anyone knew the bolt pattern of the 1950 Dodge Coronet? Thank You

Ok I have been looking around and found a little more information. So I guess my overall question is, Would you recommend me using the original Master Cylinder or upgrading to one with a booster on it? Would it be a great deal of improvement?

Paul, Did you have a noticeable difference when you converted from drum to disc? Is there a reason why you did not upgrade the master cylinder to one with a booster? I plan on doing the conversion but I am not sure if I want to keep my original Master Cylinder or get one with a booster. Any recommendations?

I put a electric fuel pump on mine. Airtex Master E8011 is the pump I used. This is the 6 volt positive ground. I mounted mine on the frame rail right in front of the rear diff. I have not had it on there very long, but it seems to work great. You can purcahse this from autozone or napa.

I have been thinking about brake conversion on my 1950 Coronet and wanted some advice or thoughts on it. I have been thinking about putting 20" rims on the car for a better look. I assume that I will need better brakes to slow these down? I am not sure if I want manual Disc brakes or Power disk brakes. I am wondering how much of a noticable difference there will be between the two. If I decide to go power, then would I be pulling the vacuum from the carb? Any ideas or thoughts would be great. Thank You

I am in the process of rebuilding my master cylinder, but I am not sure where 1 gasket goes. I have a book but it doesnt seem to be very clear on where it may go. When I took the old one apart, this gasket was not inside it. The gasket or O-ring I am talking about is on the bottom part of the attached picture. The little black round one.
