  1. I went to an auction on Saturday that was an old IH and Chrysler dealership. There was a black 48 New Yorker 4 door there. They apparently sold this to a local doctor and then bought it back when he could no longer drive it. It had around 30,000 actual miles on it. Highlander plaid interior, Fulton visor, fog lights, wide whites, etc. Very nice original car. It sold for a little over $14,000, which was quite high. It's nice to see unrestored cars like that are still bringing good money.
  2. Thanks for the great info. There were a bunch of film strips at the auction also. I didn't know they went with these records, so didn't buy them. I hadn't really paid much attention to the records until they started auctioning them. It was an interesting auction. Old IH and Chrysler dealership from the 50s to the late 90s. There was tons of literature, brochures, manuals, posters and NOS parts. I bought some of the manuals and parts also. Some of that stuff really gets expensive. I paid over $100 for one manual/parts book and there were some that brought over $200. And the parts...that was like a grab bag. Boxes with little parts that you could kinda see what was on top but didn't really know what you were buying for sure. Most of the parts I bought seem to be from the late 60s, early 70s, but I did see some brake parts from late 40s early 50s. I will sort them all out soon. Thanks again for the info.
  3. I was at an auction today with a bunch of old Mopar stuff. I bought a pile of 80 vinyl records 33 1/3 rpm. They are sales, service, technician info that appears to be from the late 40s, early 50s. I'm guessing that maybe there was some film or slides or something that went along with them. Anybody here familiar with these records? I'm not sure what I am going to do with them...probably resell them. They would make cool wall decorations in somebody's garage/man cave. Or you could listen to them and get an old time education.
  4. I am going to totally part out my early 49 Plymouth Club Coupe and most of the parts will go on Ebay. I have a bunch on now and many more to come the next few weeks. There are some nice parts on this car....I will try to attach a link to one item, but if that doesn't work, my user ID is highpockets58...you should be able to find my items there...thanks http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=110314885924&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT
  5. I am parting out an early 49 (46-8 style). I am trying to remove the horn button, ring and steering wheel. Does the plastic Plymouth center pry out? I have tried,,,but it isn't moving. It and the ring are in decent shape, so I don't want to wreck anything. Any tips???
