I have a 49 plymouth 4dr and I was gonna put it on a s10 frame but I heard its a pita and you can buy new spindles and all the front end goodies to do disc brakes. My question is has anyone done this and what did you use? I'm playing on using a ls1/4l80 trans so will the original frame hold up?

well put plymouthy i know that i have alot to do that why i wanted to ask first so in case someone has done it before that would have saved me some time!

i figured the firewall would need to be modified and as far as the wheel openings im sure we can match that up the best we can i figured for a $100 car it was worth a shot ... i figured someone atleast did a 2wd swap maybe i need to check google again. i just dont want to put anything chevy in her!

thanks randy its been in the back of my mind but havent dug into it yet i have another car to get running first but it seems like it would work just need to see what the wheel bases of the two are. i would be swaping in the whole drivetrain.. if that was obvious

hey guys i got a quick question and i cant seem to find a search button. i have a 49 plymouth and ive seen people swap 2wd dakota frames into them but has anyone swaped a 4x4 frame under one? i know ill catch crap for this question but i want to make it clear i dont want a lifted monster truck here i just noticed the ride height is about the same and it would be awesome to have in iowa. thanks in advance!
