  1. Thanks Dozer. I'm even more confused now. The stroke and bore add up to 190cid. We talked to a local shop and they verified the cid. He shows that cid as a 1931-33. The bore is not sleeved. As of right now I'm just hoping to be able to bore it out to a 201 or 218 bore. I'm also hoping to be able to use the rods I have now and maybe just get away with buying a new crank. Exploring my options. Thanks for your help guys. I'll let you know what I find out.
  2. Head length is 23" . My dad checked a local engine shop and the displacment they came up with was 190. The guy at the shop thinks it may be a 1931-33 motor. I dont know if it is the same ablock as the 201-230. Ill see if I can get a better pic of the ser no. Its stamped so light its hard to get a good pic. I went to the junkyard today and found a couple flatties. Going back tomorrow to find out size and price.
  3. firewall tag would be cool:D
  4. hello everyone i need some help ID'ing this motor. we are looking to rebuild the motor and some of the info we got on it is NOT adding up:confused:. the previous owner passed away 4 yrs ago and any chance of knowing what it cam out of is gone. for my own piece of mind i'd like to know what this came out of (originaly...not sure if it matters). it's sitting in a 1936 dodge KC pickup. we're almost positive it is not the original motor. i'm pretty sure its a 201 but the engine serial number has been ground and a new one stamped. specs dont add up to what we've seen in the books. there is a tag rivetted to the engine that says FOR PARTS SPECIFY MODEL 219. (i appologise for the large pics but i wanted a clear image for you to see) see pic bore: 3 1/8" stroke: 3 5/8" measured from top of piston to the deck (top of engine block). seems short from what ive seen in the books pistons are aluminum tops of piston are flush with the deck casting no. below dist. 87 and 11-20. lower right by starter 1119729-5 there are little round casting spots on the block by each cyl just below the deck that are stamped with a D on each. see pic the engine serial number looks to be I ? 1 7 ? W I(or?) S i am subing a ? for what appears to be an upside down and right side up T stamped almost on top of eachother. see pic the head has a spot ground down and is stamped 219. there is a small tag rivetted to the head with 11-22 see pics thanks for any help you might have for me!!!!
