I'm needing the rear wheel car weight for my 42 club coupe.. I don't have access to car scales. I'm going to have some rear springs made for the explorer 8.8 rear end Im going to use. They wanted to know the rear weight. Has anyone had theirs weighted before or have a good guess? Thanks

First time to see this setup too. Can't wait to see how it works and feels

Hello This is my first post about my 42 club coupe. Bought it 3 years ago and finally " cracked the egg" so to speak. I wanted first to up date the front end and drivetrain. I was luck to find a local guy that builds front end kits here in town. Try to find one for our car is not easy. Going with mustang 2 , rack and pinion, disc, coil over adjustable shocks. The geometry is right on. The engineer knows his stuff. I'll post more pics with the progress. Should move pretty quick now that all the cutting is done. We even were able to scab on the bumper mounts.

Thanks Robert and Falcon That's the info I was needing. Just spent 2 hours on line looking up rear-ends and not the good lookin kind..... That narrows my search. Thanks again !!!!

Good point guys. Ive just had 9in on my brain. This is my first mopar go-around, been in mustang land for years. What are the rears like and how much more are they going to cost? Availability? Can I use the ford wheel bolt pattern on the rear, already have my front in 4 1/2?

Thanks Austinsailor, That's one of the reasons I saved her, I love it when people say " it cant be a 42, they didn't make cars in 42-45" lol where do you look for parts for your 42? know any good venders? Im needing window felt, glass rubber, better trunk chrome front headlight housing. Andy, No eye-rolling please.....I want to keep the engine mopar so ,was looking for a 318-340, BUT I came across a great deal on a new rebuilt 1970 -440 with a 727 trans. Im using a Gayle Bridges cross member and coil over suspension, IFS. As for rear wheel, I guess Im going to have pic one. Thought I could wait on that. I want a good wide footprint on the rear but not to wide that I have modify anything. Just a good "old school" look from the back with the chrome duel exhaust coming out the back.

This is what she looked like two years ago when I brought it home. Sitting under a lean shed since 1981. Bought it from the son of the original owner.

I'm updating the drivetrain in my 42 P-14S. Does any one have any experience with putting in a Ford 9in rear-end ? Wondering what width and or from what car I should be looking for? Plan on using a four link set-up. Thanks for any input. Tim

I've been looking for service manuals and finding that there are some 36-42 and some 42-48. Which would be the better year range to buy? Are there any other must have manuals I need to be looking for? Thanks Tim

Thanks for the nice comments, It is a special deluxe club coupe , ran the vin# and it was made in CA. I found that metal trim piece that fits under the front bumper in the trunk. I was wondering where it went:) The interior cleaned up nice I'll post some pics later. Some of what I've learned so far... 1 - 1/2 lug bolts right thread, 1/2 left thread...!!! also what positive ground means....lol

Just bought my first coupe that wasn't a Mustang. Ive always wanted one. Looking forward to bringing it back to life. Bought it from the son ,who got it from his dad , who bought it in Cal. back in 1960. Its been sitting under a lean shed scence in the early 80's. Spent the weekend getting it running and looking up info on the car. Pulled the plugs, lubed heads, cleaned points, by passed the fuel tanks and she fired up. Now I have to rebuild the brakes and I think I can putt around the yard. I know its pre-war and 1/2 year production. But would like more info, background and values on the 42's if any one can help. Also whats a good parts catalog company? I just cant seem to google very much info on them. All the body parts are great no rust and just a few little pings , will have to patch the floor pans. lots of surface rust on the undercariage. Thanks for any help.
