I have tons of misc. parts that I collected over the last year. take a look at: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&sspagename=STRK%3AMESELX%3AIT&viewitem=&item=330279001236 click on my other auctions when you get there to see the rest thx for lookin kevin
  3. hey guys just a "heads up"..i'm gonna list a bunch of 52 b3b parts i didnt sell with my truck on ebay or maybe here. have: original tailight brake light and bracket, fluid drive emblems for hood, glass fuell filter for carb, fuel pump heat shield, old master cylinder, emergency brake assembly (complete), speaker grille, don bunn dodge book, and lots more...ill post in here when they go on..hopefully today or tomorow...but since you guys are so great for helpin me with it.thought i'd let you know.. all items are in great shape. thx kevin
  4. wish i would have seen that post..maybe it would have helped me..I spent many days and alot of money trying to figure out my engine running so rough........Itwas a simple adjustment on the carb..the only screw i didn't touch hahahaahha oh well...lesson learned.. thx
  5. well merle..I think i sold it tosomeone who knew alot more about the truck than he led me to believe It was still running terrible...when he got here to look at it....he had me start it and then he messed witht the screw on top of the carb the one to the passenger side (found only on fluid drive models) and he had it running perfect withing 2 minutes.I kinda wanted to keep it at that point. but it was for sale and he bought it. at least i learned a lesson..I shouldnt have give up ......oh well.. funny thing is..nobody in the forumn said anything about that screw on top of carb when i asked....my manual said its some kinda of dashpot and i still have no idea how that screw alone could have rendered my engine basically "useless" ...strange but true. kevin
  6. well my much loved and cherised 52b3b is gone . had it on ebay..someone came to look at it today..b4 my acution was even over and offered me an unbelievable amount of cash for it..so its gone...and i think it went to a good home....i almost cried becuase of all the time and learning that went into what i did.... financially i could not keep it....but someday i hope to find another pilothouse. with the knowledge i gained because of you fine people here, i'm sure it will be much easier the next time around. Just knowing I ressurected it from sure death and gave it a new engine and much love...makes me happy. Once again..thanks to all of you for your help during the past year. p.s. hope you dont mind me hanging around and reading stuff here..... kevin
  7. well have my 52 on ebay..and trying to tune it up for the new buyer..and ran into problems. Initially I thought it was running rough because of bad igniton wires, so I replaced them. Still running rough.. Thought it was carb so replaced it with known good one..still runs the same. Ok Question for the pros: I've probably put a whole 10 miles on it since the rebuild..Am I suppose to adjust the valves right away? retorque the head? would either of these make it "all of a sudden" run so rough? Even backfired once and when I push on accelerator pedal nothing...just wont rev up at all and engine seems to run very rough. I'm at a loss and really cannot afford to put anything more into it..I just lowered the selling price on ebay because I feel terrible..Some advice would be much appreciated. thanks
  8. trying to tune up new engine so it runs perfect and decided the cheeesy new wire set i got from roberts are defective..I messed with them for hours..first i had to put ends on (which i've never done before) second they dont pop in holes on dist. cap at all..always fall out etc.... Does anyone know if i can walk into kragen..autozone..napa and get a set of good wires off the shelf that will fit good? premade? went to all 3 websites and no real luck..just mainly the universal accel wires..which i hate too.. thx. kevin
  9. i added a 6 volt negative ground alt to my system and the winshield wipers still worked after the installtion. it was 6 volt positive ground before adding the alt. hope this helps. kevin
  10. Hi guys.just thought i'd let you all know i finally listed my 52 on ebay tonight...hated to do it...but have no choice...you can take a look here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&sspagename=STRK%3AMESELX%3AIT&viewitem=&item=330277203420 any questions feel free to ask... thx kevin
  11. hey brian..i just took a ride in my 52 b3b with 3 speed fluid drive..and i figured it out finally...WEll you shift just like a regular 3 speed column shift....Here is the difference with the fluid drive..(hope I make sense)..ok i can let out the clutch in any gear with the truck running and it wont die..and i can take off in any gear ( 3rd is very slow) 2nd or 1st...and then shift accordingly using the clutch.. I think the advantage of the fluid drive is that when you're driving around town maybe..you can leave it in 2nd and take your foot off the clutch and just drive without having to push clutch in each time you stop at a stop sign or light. It seems kinda weird to me as I just now took my truck with the new master cylinder installed on its real first ride since i installed the new engine..and here is what I noticed. Well the 218 is new..and runs great but..kinda slow on the get up , but once in 3rd rolls down the road pretty nice actually..I'm thinking the rear end is low geared etc..but its fun to drive. Hope this helped..i'm sure someone more technical will jump in.
  12. got new master cylinder from napa today..cost 170..(credit cards almost maxed) ..... I can't figure out when i bench bleed it before I install it...ok do i fill with fluid and leave the round plug on top then push in piston several times..or do i need to run a line from where the brake line goes back into the resevoir and then pump the cylinder....There is a solid cap on it..so i don't really know how many times to push cylinder in because i cannot see if their are bubbles still in the resevoir or not...very confusing for me..first time. the directions that came with the unit show it done both ways but does not tell which way to do it. At least is say's made in usa on the unit..maybe it will last a while. thx for your help
  13. thx but i diagnosed it wrong..it's definately the master cylinder leaking all the fluid out from the rear...I just ordered one from napa ..will be here tues. morning. Another 175.00 on my truck..but i have to have the brakes fixed if i'm going to sell it..
  14. well i'm trying to make my brakes work..and have determined the union on my frame (from master cylinder to frame) which is a 4 way brass? fitting has one of the holes stripped. The line from master cylinder to the fitting seems to be the stripped hole. My question can i get this 4 way fitting somewhere? i've look and can only find a T fitting..will i have to tee again off of the tee i can find and plug an opening? its a 52 bcb 1/2 ton... thx
  15. hopefully i didnt mess up again..I had a friend help me lift the front clip back on truck (removed entire clip prior to installing new engine)..... I was hoping to install inner fenders after i put clip back on. but tried to set one in..and seemed tight....Did I mess up and need to lift clip off again and bolt on inner fenders? Any tips would help.(need to get clip and hood on to sale) thx
