  1. Oh Man! Did I ever come to the right place! Thanks for all this information! The module is really fried, there's hair like burnt wires all hanging out of it like a head full of split ends. I'm going to check all the wiring for safety, install the in line fuse and if the capacitor isn't necessary for the gas gauge to work I think I'll just leave it out. Thank you guys, you're much appreciated! Best wishes to you all, David
  2. The conversion to 12 volt was done by a previous owner. The capacitor just says "SPRAGUE MADE IN USA" with a patent number that was issued around 1935 (1,900,093). I son't see any other markings anywhere.
  3. OK! Many thanks, I'll check all the wiring.... Sure glad I don't need it cause finding another one would be a bi-t-ch for sure. Thank you! David
  4. It was attached to the back of the gauge and the car's 12 volt...... I'm mystified........ thanks, David
  5. Well ...this went up in smoke under the dash of my 47 Plodge and now the fuel gauge doesn't register. Would someone tell me please what this is called and where to get one? Many thanks! David
  6. Thank you for the nice welcome! .
  7. Yep, it's just like that thanks! By the way, how do I delete the duplicate post? (I'm new around here)
  8. Thank you! When I got the car it had a Fluid Drive rear bumber and no valance (the car's a 3 speed) but I was able to find a nice original rear bumper with the valance. I've got the original brackets and valance for the front now, I'm just looking for the front bumper. Body wise everything Plymouth Special Deluxe fits it. I appreciate your quick reply! David
  9. HI, I've got a 47 Dodge D25 (Plymouth... "Plodge"). Could someone tell me please if a 48 Dodge trunk handle will fit my trunk? Thank you, David

  11. Thank you Mark, opening up my mind to alternative possibilities is sound advice.... Many thanks for your help here, it's very much appreciated! David
  12. Wow! Thanks for your generosity here Mark, these photo's will help me a lot! A few months ago I bought a door lock from a guy in St. Louis who has a warehouse full of parts and he has a NOS parking brake lining. (His name is John....he goes by "hiltopap" on eBay) . I should be getting it in a week or two and I'll let you know how it goes. By the way, Ruby's a beauty! If you know where I could find some vent shade window visors like you have please let me know. Many thanks! David
  13. Thanks Andy, I'm really enjoying being here! I got real lucky on this car, it runs like a top and it's a daily driver rain or shine. The guy I got it from did some things I'm not too crazy about ....like cutting off the drip rails (not too smart an idea here in Seattle) so I'm looking around for some vent shades for the windows. And the valances are gone so I'm going to try to make some of those. Overall though it's been very well cared for over the years, it purrs like a kitten and it's one of the most reliable cars I've ever owned. Thanks for the story and for helping me! All my best wishes, David
  14. Thanks for helping me Robert, and for making me feel welcome here! I'm much appreciative! All my best wishes, David
  15. Hello! I'm a new first post person here, I'm not a mechanic but I'm learning, and I drive a 1947 Dodge D-25. My parking brake is worn down to nothing, hardly holds the car any more, and I've got a line on a new band for it. Since I want to get the right thing my question is whether all the bands for these 47 Mopar cars were the same size or do I need to measure it? Also... my car has a stock standard 3 speed, not Fluid Drive and I'd like to know if the clutch disc is a 10" or an 11". Many thanks in advance for helping me answer these questions! David
