  1. Things got busy all of a sudden, one of the guys here got let go and I had to pick up his work load...... My front end is complete and installed C/W new king pins, new springs, tie rod ends, new bearings and races and brakes, just need to run new steel lines. The back brakes are today........thanks for the diagram, I almost forgot how to assemble shims and back plate......This took longer then I wanted but its all good in the end........cheers and thanks.......

Doing step 11 as we speak........I took it to the machine shop next door, luckily the old boy that runs place knows what to do............i really appreciate your help on this.........I spend a lot of time reading through all the threads here and then when something specific comes up I forgot where I read it.........Once the front axle comes back from next door things should really get moving on this old beauty.........
  3. Got a kingpin in today, is it ever hard to move, is it suppose to be stiff when newly installed? I used lots of grease..........Summer is getting near and parts are starting come in, life is good.

  6. I forgot to post this. I wanted to make sure it ran before pulling it apart and here she is................
  7. Waiting on parts now.......... How do these rear bearing come out? If I have to pull the axle I think I'm going to leave it.........They seem OK. Thats my adventure up to now........I havent done this sort of thing for a looooong time and I forgot how much I enjoy it. My son is enjoying it too.
  8. My son and I went to California on the Feb. long weekend and hauled it home. I bought a trailer over the phone that was in Orland ca. and had him fax me the bill of sale, I got a plate for it which made it a Alberta trailer. Went and got the truck and headed north to the border, no one even asked about the trailer. Pics? Loading it up the BigM way........... Took the scenic route home through Redwood park. Got it home and started stripping Found a weld on the driver side spring, I'm going to get new spring packs in case the insurance inspection catches it.......
  9. Not a Pilot house but still a beauty.........I'm bringing it home on the Feb. long weekend, cant wait.
  10. I also lurked around and decided to register here although my truck isn't a Pilot House I was welcomed..................... Oh yeah......I'd love to see pics of you project .........
  11. I wont be doing any of that. It'll be kept inside and only drivin on nice days rarely seeing rain or crappy weather....

  16. New here as well. Just bought a 46 Dodge pickup over the web, sopposedly running and moving. When I get it here first thing will be get the tires aired up, clean the fuel system, new oil and filter, flush cooling system and check plug and wiring........and crank er over...........
