I have a customers '48 Plymouth in the shop. His column shifter works hard, so after reading the Forum about the worn out rear engine
mounts, I ordered new ones. I unhooked the linkage at the trans and the 2nd and 3rd arms functioned in the trans as it should, but the 1st/reverse arm
did not feel like there was any detent ball in it. I have done lots of 4 speeds, but not these 3 speeds, So my question is, did they not use a detent
ball and spring in these transmissions, and can I get a schematic that shows the breakdown? Thanks.
