  1. OK, thx Junkers72. I spoke to one of the better mustang 2 style kit builders today and they said only .5 to 1 + of caster. That the 4-5 degree range was if I was racing -
  2. Thanks for the info Sniper. The man who started the build has it set op with a power steering rack and the 6.1 hemi will handle that. I'm trying not rework the front end, i.e. mustang 2 style if at all possible. It will all come apart to clean and paint after the first of the year so I want to do whatever is needed to have it handle well and drive safely with the hemi- If you come across your notes or any pics, please post them. thx
  3. Has anyone been able to get some positive caster, i.e. 4-5 degrees? I read a post on the site from a few years ago that you can get a little by turning the eccentric bushing, pic below, but this can also change camber. I also came across this video where the guy loosens the upper arm outer bushings / seals and then is able to rotate the bar once removed from the crossmember to achieve positive caster. Is there a correct way to achieve positive caster if it's even possible? My roller project came with a new 6.1 Hemi and want to make sure the D42 will track straight with that power. Maybe lower it a bit from the front springs and shocks? thanks ew
  4. thank you for the possible solution and picture. I think the holes were there and the PO covered them, except for the front ovals and the first rectangle , with body filler. I was going to hunt and peck for them and hoping to get the proper spacing of the possible holes. One of the FB Coronet guys suggested that his were every 13" edge to edge. thank you
  5. Thanks for all the info Dartgame. I have seen the various clips on ebay and the mopar parts guys carry them. I think the holes are there and were covered over with body filler. I was hoping to get the proper spacing so I could successfully hunt and peck for them. One of the FB Coronet group replied that they were every 13".
  6. Morning, looking for the ROCKER MOULDING HOLE LOCATIONS on this '52 2 door convertible. The previous owner likely body worked over them but I do have the stainless molding. 2 pictures show only 3 visible hole and shape locations, 3 on drivers side and 2 on passenger side. Does anyone have a body with the molding off that could measure from the front fender to door gap back to the rear fender and give me how many and the center points of each relative to the front door seam? I could then tap in an awl and rotary tool to clean out body filler, etc. Looks like 2 different clip types up from will be needed. Rear fenders to front wheel well is approx. 88-1/2" Thank you-
  7. Lazyk, confirmed on Ebay 1955 Chevrolet 150 210 Belair Nomad Front Bumper Valance Panel 3 PCS Set 4002
  8. LazyK, your picture looks like a match, same shape and hole pattern. I'll ask some of the Chevy guys at Saturdays show. I'm not sure what else he had. There were a couple of Chevy Impala side moldings stuffed in the pile as well as 2 vent window assemblies that are not for my car. I got the convertible through a car shop that didn't want to restore it. Thank you, maybe that cross member is also for a Chevy-
  9. grea235, possible but I don't think they match up to the bottom of my '52 grill. I have a right and a left stone guard, flat sections.
  10. Hi All, I've been unpacking my puzzle of a project as all the previous removed features were put inside the car after the previous owner passed on. I have a D42 1952 Coronet Convertible These may not go with this car, i won't get rid of them either way. Attached are some pictures and I have not found these in the shop manual diagrams: 1 - is a heavy crossmember that looks like it might have been a transmission brace but the convertible has a X frame and there is already a small L shaped bar in that area. The L shape may have been swapped in by the PO but I don't see anywhere or how this approx. 4' long brace would fit. 2 - are heavy gauge boomerang shaped braces x 2 3 - are curved and contoured pieces that look look they would be part of the front wheel wells but how or where would they fit? x 2 4 - is an odd shaped piece, fairly flat, maybe a panel somewhere but not in the floor 5 - last is another formed piece, maybe under the engine or transmission? Thanks for any help putting a name and location for these. Eric
  11. Thank you TodFitch, going to be an interesting build. I'm still trying to identify a few pieces and will post some pictures if needed. Just ordered a service manual so hopefully that will help.
  12. Doug & Deb, yes it has the rear seat, see pic. Got it cleaned out and started sorting through the parts. No front seat ! thx
  13. Hi All, I just brought this Dodge convertible home for restoration. The previous owner passed away and it was brought to me as a roller with parts piled inside. I found the vehicle number on the drivers side door jam. Would anyone be able to tell me what I have? 51 or 52? Coronet or Wayfarer, etc? thank you
