  1. Two questions: 1. Trying to do a frame off when the original owner never finished. The only wiring that is there is just enough to run the engine. Is this the wiper switch? Any idea how to wire it? 2. The truck has an electric wiper motor, again, never hooked up. There are 3 wires coming out of a pigtail, but I'm not sure which is which.
  2. When I pulled the lock assembly out, the tumblers and springs fell out as well. Is this normal?
  3. Thanks to everyone that gave advice on how to remove passenger door lock assembly. Now that it's out, I can't seem to remove the door latch assembly. Have a manual. followed all the steps, seemed easy. However, it gets hung up on what appears to be the window track. It is spotwelded so I can't remove it. As a result, the latch assembly doesn't have enough clearance to remove. Any tricks?
  4. Your pictures helped greatly!! Exactly what I needed to see. Thanks
  5. I posted earlier and the replies were to drill out the screw to remove. I started today, but not sure of exactly what to do. How far do I drill? Then what? IAs I drilled, it looks like I got into brass. Is this normal? I want to save the key lock mechanism. I looked up the new part someone suggested so I might have an idea, and I understand how that would retain the lock. However, it doesn't help explain what I'm getting into. Want to go forward without damaging or ruining any more than I need to. Any help, diagrams or photos would be greatly appreciated.
  6. Hard to see in there. Seems to be a bracket on the inside of the door. I can't tell if it rotates, or slides down. Sorry for the poor pictures, the yellow spot is where I tried to use a piece of wood to no avail
  7. Thanks. Thought either flashlight or fire extinguisher.
  8. I can only assume it was to hold something. Attached to steering column. What did it hold
  9. My dashboard has a pull out throttle "cable". What was the purpose, just to adjust the idle? Also, I have seen many pictures of Pilot House trucks with turn signals mounted on top of the front fenders, and just as many as without fender mounted lights. Which is correct?
  10. Thanks for the replies. I'm new to this forum and not sure if replying to one, or all. The bracket on your switch is similar to the one on my wiper switch. Maybe the previous guy switched things around. The truck is not stored at my home so it will be a few days before I can get some actual pictures of my truck. I have yet to crawl under the dash, but, that's coming. I hope to strip the cab and get it media blasted.
  11. I am in the process of doing a frame off restoration on a 5 window b1b. It had previously been partially restored, but never completed, especially the interior. The wiper switch was left dangling under the dash. when I went to move it to its proper location, I noticed another switch that has never been correctly placed, but I'm not sure where it would go. It appears to be a fan control switch for the heater. There are no "holes" in the dash where it might go. The four "holes that have been filled are: Head lamps, panel lights, ignition key, choke and throttle. I've included a picture off the Internet to indicate what I'm describing. Any ideas?
