Hi, I was wondering if anyone has ever setup some gas struts to open their hood on a 1954 plymouth (or similar) . My hood springs are shot and of course, the hood won't stay up. Yes, I know I can use a broom stick! Figured someone , somewhere must have made this sort of change (or to a similar car setup). i have some generic gas struts, but can't get them to work as the design of the hood means it doesn't shut straight down, it kind of slides back a few inches as it is shutting (which of course pulls on the strut mounts). thanks!

also, I NEVER receive any response from that 12 bolt .com website - either though the contact form or via direct email. Not sure what the go is there? -

these are the same ones on ebay. Again, I'm after someone that has fitted them to a right hand drive car as so I know that they clear the steering box. -

Hi All, has anyone ever installed these: https://www.ebay.com/itm/285489208942 on a RIGHT hand drive car please? Interested to know if they clear the steering box. -
help please - what is this relay and how to wire it? Headlamp maybe
hepkat63 replied to hepkat63's topic in P15-D24 Forum
I did - however, i have a horn relay already. This was (is) connected to the terminal block for the headlights etc. -
for those that have replaced their generator with an alternator (with inbuilt regulator), am I correct (looking at the wiring diagram) in assuming that the existing red wire going to the regulator can be removed? I am putting a thicker (90amp) wire directly from the alternator to battery side of starter relay, however wondered if the regulator still needed some power as it is linked to the horn relay (orange wire). That being the case, can a simple 12v hookup to replace the orange wire to the horn relay be sufficient?

Hi, sorry to drag up this old thread! However, as what commonly happens, the website that that link refers to seems long gone. Then along comes guys like me, read this great p15 site thread only to find the links dead :(. So.... if someone would please be so kind as to post that information here, that would be great and I'm sure it would help others just joining down the track! I basically just need the installation procedure for the spring - I can work out where it goes, but what are the 'number of turns' to get it to the correct position please? thank you in advance!

@1952Cranbrook Im in the same boat as you were. I've just found an R10 box, but was wondering if you'd please share where you ended up getting the rest of the parts from (or modern equivalent) and a few photos if you have the time please? All I have is the box but understand the other parts I require. I am running 12v. (thanks in advance, will save me a week of google searching !)- 41 replies
