  1. Thanks @sidevalvepete I appreciate you posting the photos! Looks like I'll have to get creative on the mounting options since mine is completely missing. Thanks Again!
  2. Hi @desoto1939 Thanks for the post! I do have a 1929-1939 Master Parts book for Dodge Passenger cars that shows a similar diagram ( attached photos ), the issue I hit is the body attachment on the bottom end of the prop... I'm wondering if maybe there originally would have been some sheet metal/bracket welded to the body, that along the way was removed/rusted away, so I don't have an attachment point to work with on the bottom end of the bracket. Maybe that's why there's no reference to a mounting bracket in the parts list since it wasn't actually a separate part.. Just a guess... If anyone out there with a 1937-1938 Dodge/Plymouth 4 door would be willing to share a photo of their trunk prop mounting config that would be awesome! Thanks Again
  3. Hello All, I recently acquired a 1937 Dodge D5 ( Super Excited ) and have been working through a few items to get the car going. One item I have been trying to figure out is the Trunk Lid support Assembly/Prop. Unfortunately the locking prop rod it is missing from the car. I have a bracket on the trunk lid ( photos attached ), but my question comes in on the lower section, would the prop have attached to the side of the body with a bracket ( I have a small rectangular hole behind the weather stripping - red arrow ), or would it have been mounted to the wooden shelf in the trunk ( which I also need to make )? I have been digging through parts catalogs trying to see the connection point, but can't seem to track it down. Also, does anyone have a good suggestion on a replacement prop, or would you recommend placing one on each side, so that the hinges don't crack ( I already have a slight crack on the drivers side hinge ). Thanks in Advance for your help!
  4. Thanks @desoto1939 I was able to snag a second plate online, so I'll use that as a spare/template for repairing my current one. Thanks Again to all for your help!
  5. Thank you @desoto1939 & @Doug&Deb for the quick response! This documentation will help me with the correct lengths since I basically have wire ends to work with and that's it ( photo from above was an eBay find ) Thanks Again!
  6. Hello Everyone, I am currently rebuilding an IAT-4003 Distributor from a 1950 Plymouth Special Deluxe, and the wiring on the breaker plate had deteriorated so much that I am having trouble determining the original wire gauge. Hopeful someone might be able to point me in the right direction. I have high strand count flexible wire for the repair so that it can move with the plates, however I don't want to go to heavy and restrict the movement or have issues from the wire being too small with the 6v setup ( specifically the short wire between the top and bottom plate). Thanks in advance for your help!
