  1. Good info, thanks!
  2. Yes! Much appreciated.
  3. Thanks for the links!
  4. Haha yeah a lot of us BMW people seem to stay in their lane. I don't mind showing a little love to some other brands however. Doing the basics yourself on a BMW saves so much money! This is my 330ci
  5. I wonder too lol. Odometer says 67k mi but I trust that as much as I trust our politicians, any of em, either party! lol Thanks for the advice on the torque down, I'll give it a go first and see. Do you guys torque by set strength or just go by feel?
  6. Thanks! I bought it after someone spent 3 years restoring it inside and out, then it changed hands 2 times before becoming mine, no maintenance done by the 2 priors. I'm used to working on my 2004 BMW's straight 6 but I know nothing about these flatheads, yet.. I found a glass fuel filter in a box of old parts given to me with the car, I wonder if it's spare, or if it was swapped with the plastic one for having issues. Either way, I don't like the sound of an engine bay fire so I'll get to that ASAP! Where do you guys like to get new head gaskets from?
  7. I noticed some oil weeping and bubbles, see the link below for a video of it. I'm new to this platform so I don't have much knowledge yet. I'm guessing this means new headgasket time? https://photos.app.goo.gl/Gs5a9bVQCNipRBWL6
  8. I'm thinking about using something like this https://www.seatbeltsplus.com/product/WSCH205P.html I'll have to poke around my interior to see if I already have mount points, I really don't want to have to drill!
  9. Appreciate the insight, and that's a clean ride! I located the fellow who restored the car (Facebook is good sometimes!) and I will ask him what he knows about the heat situation as well. Some historical context would be great.
  10. lol all good, and thanks!! I’m fortunate enough to have picked up the car like this and the interior condition was a big part of the decision. 3 owners ago the fellow restored it over a 3 year period inside and out.
  11. Hi I have a 51 Cranbrook coupe and wanted to know if there are any recommended or known options for adding a shoulder belt to the back seats. I wanted to make it a little safer for my 8 year old son when he sits in the back, and it would help with using a kids booster seat. My back seats have lap belts currently but that's it.
  12. Thanks! Here's a pic under the hood.
  13. Thanks! Haha I’m far from a stickler with cars, I love custom things. I’ll make a new post when I eventually figure out the heating situation.
  14. lol this model dog doesn’t produce enough BTUs for an interior of this volume unfortunately, must be because she’s a European model. thanks! I love the styling of classic cars so much. I grew up going to car shows with my dad and I always wanted something unique of my own one day. I’ll update this post with under the hood stuff and point out the heater area too.
  15. I’ll take more pics today and update this post. I can see little custom things all over the place. AFAIK this Cranbrook was “restored” 2 owners ago but who knows what was really done when.
  16. Thank you!! My 8 y/o son is already ecstatic. He wants me to keep it forever haha.
  17. Hi everyone, first time posting here. My 1951 Cranbrook was delivered to my driveway today after I closed the deal on it with the previous owner. I was looking for a classic that was ready to go and just putter around with, take my son to school in, get coffee or groceries, etc. It's not immaculate or flawless by any means but could easily bring to casual car shows. It has the flat 6 and was converted from 6v to 12v electrical. I'm pretty excited! First mini project is to add heat. I see the two lines under the hood but where a heater should be is just a gap and a louvered door that goes through the firewall. To be continued..
