  1. Thanks everybody, I will be rebuilding pretty much everything with the brakes. Appreciate all the help!
  2. 1937 D5 when I start the day the brake pedal is pretty loose with very no bounce back, I kind of have to pull it back with my foot. As the day goes on the pedal gets harder and harder to press and barely moves but still brakes.. Next day the same thing. Figuring The master cylinder needs to be replaced or rebuilt since it is the original one leaning more towards replacement, But thought I'd ask a you knowledgeable people if they had any thoughts or ideas.
  3. That is some good information Thank you. My biggest problem is I can't find too much information on this particular R6. This one I believe is fully mechanical and doesn't have the engagement cable. I don't know if the one from the r-10 will fit and I also can't figure out when to engage/disengage it.
  4. I really appreciate it! I was hearing that the 3.73 would be best but I couldn't figure out how to find the right ones that fit.. I do have the opportunity to pick this up but I don't know much about it and fell.loke changing the gearing would be the easiest and cheapest solution
  5. Hey everyone, I've been doing a lot of research and trying to figure out the easiest way to change my gear ratio for comfortable highway cruising in my 37 Dodge. Right now it has 4.10 gearing. I've read a few places about just changing the whole rear end and then a few have commented on just doing a gear swap.. what would I be looking for for just a gear swap that would be compatible with what I have? Thanks for any help.
  6. Looking at this transmission with overdrive for my 1937 Dodge D5. Just can't find too much info on it. I have been looking at the r10 but a fellow message me and said he has this very close to where I live. I'm just not being able to find much on this particular model.. any help would be great..
  7. I have an 37 D5 with the stock 23" 87hp "218" I was wondering the most I can mill off the head to raise compression. I have tried to research this but can only find the older 218 models and not sure if there is a difference since this on is older and lower HP. Thanks for the help
