  1. I’m looking for an exhaust manifold for my grandpa’s 1954 dodge c-1 truck. It has a 23” flathead 6. Any help and recommendations would be appreciated
  2. After doing some more digging.. looks like I have a 23” block. Can anyone recommend where to get a replacement? There isn’t any aftermarket options I can find
  3. Do u know where to find the part number for the exhaust? It seems to be one assembly so I thought it was one part number
  4. Ya, I did that for the part number.. I’ll get better pictures on here shortly
  5. Need some help, my exhaust pipe recently high centered and it snapped the pot metal on my exhaust manifold. I don’t love the idea of JB weld.. but I can’t seem to find a good aftermarket replacement or a used one that is be completely rusted. Can anyone help me?
  6. Hey guys, good news, bad news… the starter was rebuilt, and with a new switch, works great now. However, bad news, I was loading it on a trailer, and my exhaust pipe scraped the trailer and broke the exhaust manifold pot metal right where the pipe bolts up to the manifold.. any advice on where to get a new exhaust/intake manifold?
  7. I just replaced the battery recently so I don’t think it’s that. I am going to get the starter over to the shop and see what they will quote me.. could I use the core of a push button starter and put it in my petal starter? I’m struggling to find a petal starter online anywhere
  8. I really want to keep the push petal start. Keep an eye out for one for me. I wanna do this right and keep everything as stock and factory as possible, but working and reliable. That’s why I considered the 12v conversion
  9. I truly appreciate all the help and knowledge. I am going to get a second opinion on the starter and change out my battery cable size… I just hate how I have to leave the truck on a battery tender 24/7 cause there is a draw on the battery somewhere. If it sits for 30 min without a charger it dies. That was the main reason I was gonna go to 12v. As a commercial electrician, I thought running your positive through the metal of the truck was a terrible idea. But now I’m thinking maybe I should keep it.
  10. And correct me if I’m wrong… I believe this is a 1954 dodge c1 job rated deluxe. Grandpas truck .HEIC
  11. I’m gonna be completely honest with you, I’m not a great mechanic. This truck holds sentimental value close to my heart and I want to do it right and keep it as factory as possible. That being said, i was the one that broke the starter. i had a 6v battery charger on the truck while trying to start it. Things got hot, starter stopped trying to turn over and then I looked at it and there was smoke coming out of it… I called my local “starter/alternator” shop to rebuild and the old man told me it would prob be about the same price to rebuild as it would to do the conversion. I would ultimately love to be able to push the started petal in and it fire right up.
  12. Hey guys. I inherited my grandads 1954 dodge c1. It’s the flathead dually. My starter went out completely so I’m looking into doing the conversion to 12v as well. It was a very weak start and would drain the battery most times before it started the truck. I want to keep everything as factory as possible (push the foot petal to start the truck)… does anyone know where I could get a new 12v starter that operates on a foot petal
