I think I found a solution after talking with Bob at Bob's Classic Glass. This guy is awesome, years of experience and superior support! I bought all the replacement glass from him on my 41' coupe and they carry a lot of other items to work for my car like weatherstripping, run channel felts, beltline and so forth. The wiring is easy as the power window kit comes with all the wiring with simple connections. You can then use a door jam wire loom like this to run the wires from the door. I'll keep you guys posted on my progress which will take a little fabrication and time, but I think should work (hopefully).. to be continued.

LOL .. if only it was that simple, but thanks for the laugh.. I can always use that I was referring more to setup like, Balls Power Window kit or Autoloc The issue that has me scratching my head are the channel runners in the door. Originally the glass sit in bottom channels that look like this The wheels, which always seem to be broken and messed up, then run on the side window channels, kind of like train wheels run on a train track. I am not event sure why there are even fuzzy window channel runs like this: As the glass doesn't seem to even be large enough to run in these channels. With a power window kit it would be setup something like this: Do I even need to use the door channels for the glass to run smoothly up and down?

Have any of you put power windows in your ol' P15 Dodge coupe or other models? Curious if anyone has, how did it go, what product you used and any issues?

Thanks Happy 46R.. this video is not to helpful unfortunately, but I appreciate the post to help. The best I have found is this one: But he does skip steps in showing how certain detail pieces are put in. In this video he does the run channels in each door channel (two pieces) and then a separate piece that goes around the side and top of the door, which he says is held on with clips. I assume like these. Though he never shows putting it all together. I am not sure that is the correct way or not, as the Andy Berndaum site shows the run channels go in an "L" shape all the way down the interior door then bend around the top of the door to the window divider bar. Not sure which is right. It's also not super clear how the window belt line sweeps go in, and you can't see real clear what direction. He says he uses "attaching wires" to install them. I know a lot of people just glue these in using the 3M adhesive. This continued video for the door and glass is great, but again he skips some of the details He does show the L shaped window divider bar fuzzy but hard to see the direction it goes on as there is no up close shot, and says they go on with rivets. I am going to glue mine in. Again what he calls the "anti-rattle strips" are the beltline sweeps and on the door he says they go on with clips. What clips? I have no idea, but Steele has some great videos .. here is one for gluing on the Beltline sweeps. I am hoping to get my door glass, seals, trim and so forth installed correctly and hope this helps others some as I hope others help me

41' Dodge Coupe window vent removal question
41RogueCoupe replied to 41RogueCoupe's topic in P15-D24 Forum
BTW.. Steele has a good video on installing the vent window gasket seal. It's not for our model, but it shows the basics of installation, which I found helpful. -
I am looking to install glass in my 41' coupe doors and have the new window run channels. but I can't seem to find any direction on how this installs, even in the D-19 manual. Does it just go in the two channels in the door, or does it go in the one channel closest to the lock assembly then up and around the door and stop at he vent window bar? And then just but a piece in the other channel in the door closest to the latch? (please see illustration picture) I would appreciate and guidance and direction. Are there clips or something that holds the channel run pieces in, do you glue them in? Thanks

1941 Dodge Business Coupe front windshield removal & install
41RogueCoupe replied to 41RogueCoupe's topic in P15-D24 Forum
I am very happy to report that I FINALLY got my windshield installed, well the glass is in anyway as I still need the hardware for the center division bar & interior garnish To start the whole process, I first needed to find the parts of the division bar and inside garnish, which my 41' coupe was missing (not easy to find) The glass I purchased was from Bob's Classic Auto Glass, who is great to work with, knows his stuff and provided the perfect fitting glass. I first purchased the lower cost windshield seal from Andy Bernbaum, which is where I order most of my parts, but as others have stated, the seal it is not very good and near impossible to install the glass as one piece since the seal is just a single strip and the center bar rubber is separate. I threw that away...waisted money As others have also stated, I also recommend to bite the very expensive bullet and get the Steele gasket seal. It's all one piece and makes the install very easy. But your talking about a price difference today between say $80 and $270! Ouch! (crazy it costs that much for a rubber piece ... gouging ) But it works great and will make your life much less stressful. With a helper, you can get the windshield installed within 15-30mins. Hope that helps others for the future some -
1941 Dodge Business Coupe front windshield removal & install
41RogueCoupe replied to 41RogueCoupe's topic in P15-D24 Forum
I finally got the shop manual for the 41' dodge and for those who need some help on the windshield (which I still do) here are the pages for you. A few questions I have if anyone can help: - Does the windshield glass, without the rubber seal, fit right in the space of the windshield frame area or when you go to put the glass in from the inside does it butt up against the metal frame? Meaning when you hold the glass up to the windshield opening should it fit right in the open space of the frame or lay against the frame about 1/4 overlap on the inside? I am trying to figure out if my new glass is too big. - I also got the cheaper Andy Bergbaum windshield seal, but the profile of the rubber doesn't seem right or match the one they show online to what they shipped me. - I have the chrome trim piece that goes around the windshield frame and according to the shop manual the windshield seal goes over this trim piece, so you put that on first then the windshield glass with the seal? -
LED running lights and halogen headlights for my '47 Super De Luxe

These look great. I am always a fan of using new tech along with the classics to make em' better. Just because they use to drill a hole in your head to help with headaches back in the day, doesn't mean we can't do things a bit better today . The headlights are 7" aren't they? I like these Headlights Yes, some purists won't like it.. build your car -

Thanks so much for the replies. I was able to get the washer off, as it was super rusted on, so after some heat and beating I got it off -
41' Dodge Coupe window vent removal question
41RogueCoupe replied to 41RogueCoupe's topic in P15-D24 Forum
Thanks Bob. Those are some great videos! Really helpful. In the one video where he puts the vent window frame on the door garnish molding the pin for the wing is different than the one on mine. He just slides the vent window pin in the garnish, put washing and puts together. Mine, as you can see has the piece n the pin as one thing.
