  2. So i own a 1948 Canadian Dodge, so pretty much just a 48’ Plymouth P-15 Special Deluxe, what transmission fluid should i use in it, i’m currently changing the clutch and thought i might as well change the transmission fluid but don’t know what to put in it, thank you for anyone who helps me out
  3. Thank you!! yes i’m very sure it needs to come out
  4. Hello, I have a 1948 Canadian Plymouth Special Deluxe. It’s a Plodge(mix of plymouth and dodge parts because it’s canadian), I am planning on taking out my clutch and i was wondering if anyone had somethings i should know before I take it out?(in approx. 1 week from when i post this). as well as, considering this is the first time i’m taking a clutch out alone, is there any tips someone with more experience would be willing to give to me?
  5. spline diameter and thank you
  6. So i have a Canadian 1948 Dodge Deluxe so basically a Plymouth, IT IS NOT A FLUID DRIVE considering it’s Canadian, i have determined that the clutch it’s a 10 inch disc and 10 splines but i don’t know the input shaft size does anyone happen to know?
  7. thank you and i will post more photos!
  8. i checked and it said 10” diameter for the d-24
  9. I wore it out
  10. Hey, so I have a 1948 Dodge Deluxe and as most people do with not knowing how to drive standard I killed the clutch(the car is NOT fluid drive), i’ve done a lot of research and found out i need a 10” clutch with 10 splines but I was thinking of getting the whole thing so new pressure plate, etc. i was curious if there is anything i should look out for when buying a pressure plate for my car, do i need to go OEM or would a more modern pressure plate be okay? I’m from Vancouver Island, BC, Canada. So preferably nothing that’s gonna be insanely expensive with shipping. thank you! edit*** sorry for not putting in any info about what my car is doing, so the car will not move under its own power but it will stay in gear, whenever i clutch out in gear you can hear what i can best describe the clutch slipping it’s a very faint hissing sound, much like it’s barely catching
  11. So when I was driving when it first wouldn’t go into gear it happened while I was trying to put it into second, thats when it first happened
  12. Hey, so I’m new to own a old dodge my car is the 1948 D-24 Dodge Deluxe, it’s 3-on-the-tree and when I was driving it one day I shifted from first into second and when I took the clutch out after putting it into second nothing happened and it seemed to be low on power on the ride home right before this happened. I have tried adjusting the linkages and I’ve talked to family and friends who are very knowledgeable in old dodges like mine and they aren’t sure either, there wasn’t any grinding sounds it just wouldn’t shift and it won’t go into gear I tried starting it in first to see if it would lunge and it didn’t and I put it into first and it rolled no problem. I’d like to get my car up and running again. Does anyone have a better idea of what it would be? I can give more info if needed ****edit Thank you for everyone who gave advice, after looking at it and checking it out more and just overall giving it a once over, the clutch has just completely went, but thank you to everyone who helped
