Thanks I wouldn't expect you to dismantle your car. I was hoping some one might have some laying around in their shop that they could post. On my car they cut the bottoms off + welded them to the top of the frame+ wound up with 1 fender higher than the other. They also cut a ford I beam axle + sectioned it but it still was to wide+ the wheels stuck out of the fenders. So much for custom builders. Thanks for your reply lanny

Does any one have front fender brackets for a 1933 Plymouth PD coupe? I'm getting ready to re install my fenders + the brackets were pretty messed up. If I could see a picture of an original I could redo mine close to original. Some one made new shock mounts + mounted them where the brackets used to be. Thanks Lanny

Hey greg thanks for responding. I retarded the timing abit + it sounds better. I don't understand hy it was really running good + then it started making he noise. What do you guys think about synthetic oil in flatheads? Also does anyone know what the total advance on a langdons electronic distributor is? Thanks Lanny

Hi guys Happy New Year I have a couple of questions for some one about my 48 Dodge engine. It started rattling yesterday, sounds like a piston but i'm not sure. it still has 55psi oilpressure at 45 mph so I don't think it's a bearing. When I start off it doesn't make any noise, the noise starts just before it shifts. It's hooked to a GM 350 auto trans. If it is a piston is there any additive I could put in to try + make it last a little longer? How about retarding the spark a bit. This isn't agood time to rebuild my motor! If I have too who is a good place to order parts from? Thanks in advance Lanny

Babymoons for wheels with clips, where can I find them?

Speedway probably has them -
Randy I'v never been anyones hero before [ except maybe my wife's] Thanks I don't really understand why people ruin nice old cars by putting different brand motors in them especially mopars. There aren't many sbc that can beat a 340 mopar a good running 383 or 440 is a match for most bbc. hemis are another matter. It has been said if you want to go fast drive a Chrysler. Mopar flat heads forever, + they'll probably last that long Lanny

TODFITCH Thanks for your reply. My car had a 327 chevy boat anchor in it when I got it I got an adaptor from Wilcap + hooked my Dodge engine up to the 350 GM trans It still has the 12 bolt rear + GM discs on the front, It handles well + stops on a dime. With the chevy it was well over a100 mph many times. The only reason I switched engines is because IT AIN'T SUPPOSED TO HAVE NO STINKIN' CHEVY MOTOR IN IT! Besides it is much different with the flat head Dodge. I went to the old car meet up 1 night + my daughter said to me dad how come every one comes over by your ratty old car when theres 's so many really nice cars here. I told her mine was something different. It has cool factor

Yes I took out a 327 [with double hump heads + all kinds of goodies] it now resides in a50 chev 2 door. I put in a 48 dodge 230 with 3 carter weber carbs a full race cam milled head + split manifold. It is spectular! I got an adaptor from Wilcap to hook up the 350 turbo. I was worried that it won't have enouh power.IT HAS MORE THAN ENOUGH! I haven't ran it very hard yet it don't have many miles on it. When on a big road you need to watch the speedo cause it goes betterthan you'd think. I'll try to get pictures but I have to wait for 1 of the grand children pretty much computer illerate Lanny

Well the old gal finally decided to co-operate. I had a few issues but I solved them. I was afraid I might have to put in another chevy. The old flat 6 is much more fun + gets more attention. I'm happy with the performance, it goes down the road better than I thought it would.:

I did a 51 dodge p/u using the front frame clip out of a 68 ply I had to modify the firewall cause the engine set back about 10" I also used a pinto flexible steering shaft because of the angle of the column. It worked well + I drove the truck for years.

48 out of 48 had 1 of most of them
