  1. We need brake drums for a 34 Dodge Pick Up, one front, one rear. Does anyone know what years interchange? Are cars and trucks the same? Thanks.
  2. I saw a diagram here on the forum for a 37 Plymouth. Is it the same for this Dodge? If not does someone have a diagram they are willing to share? Thanks.
  3. Does anybody know if someone is making these?
  4. I am in the proces of installing the lowered uprights and disk conversion on my '41 DeSoto coupe. Rather than to try and bend the driver side steering arm by heating, I found a guy that had another passenegr side arm. I then heated it and changed the offset towards the center of the car. I will turn it upside down on the same passenger side of the car, this will give me the same drop and length on both arms. I will have to make a spacer so the arm fits flat against the spindle back (don't know the proper name). I will have the bolts countersunk. In theory I think it will work. I will let you know.
  5. I'm in the HVAC business and we buy it from a local HVAC supplier. Try typing Armaflex in google and see if it lets you find a local dealer.
  6. This stuff will work as sound, temperature and vibration insulation. It is cheap, a 1/4" sheet is abot $15.00. I was thinking of using 1/2" everywhere I can. Should make the car very quiet. Thanks for the replies.
  7. Has anybody tried using a product called Armaflex to insulate the inside of their car? It is used in the HVAC industry as pipe insulation. It can be bought in sheets from 1/4" to 1" thick. It is glued with contact cement. It is a closed cell rubber product. The price is low, especially compared to some of these other products like Dynamat or others. Just wondered if anyone could say it's good or bad for this use.
  8. Thanks for the answers. I guess since I probably won't put more than 5K in miles on it per year, the bushings will last my lifetime.
  9. I bought a king pin rebuild kit for my '41 DeSoto Business Coupe. The kit had bushings with it. The stock set up has a Torrington NB-15 needle bearing in the top on both sides and a bushing in the bottom of the spindle knuckle (my name for it). It seems no one has a kit with the bearings, only bushings. The problem is that the bearing OD is larger and the bushings are to small. My machimist is going to make bushings to fit but I would have liked to put replacement bearings back in. Does anybody have a source for the bearings or for a kit with the bearings in it?
  10. I have bought all of the necessary parts to rebuild the king pin fornt end on my coupe. I have looked at the factory manual and it is not very detailed on how to do this. I believe the new king pins have to be fitted (machined) to the new dropped spindle. Does anyone know where I can find detailed instructions with pictures? I think this same front end suspension was used into the 50's.
