  1. thanks for the replys (been busy the last few months so I havent been on here much). going to pull the engine within a few weeks and prob the transmission to, so maybe we'll be able to find out more then. also removed the bed, and the rear springs look like factory installed.
  2. Not sure if the previous post got deleted or if i forgot to post it. We have 3-16 inch wheels and 1-15 inch wheel. According to references, the 16" was standard on the B1B 1/2 ton. Can anyone tell me what bolt pattern this is, and other makes/models that will fit? Not to worried on having original wheels with hubcaps, just want to get 4 matching ones. Thanks
  3. Hi all, been a while since Ive been around. Were getting ready to start doing the full overhaul to our 49 Dodge B1B (108) and need help with a mystery. On the top of the transmission we have the number 39890. According to the books we have, this doesn't match up. the closest we can find is 39980, which would be a 1 ton. we know its a 3 speed by the shift pattern. Another thing we're trying to figure out, the rear end has overload springs, we're these factory/does anyone know if there was a "heavy duty" package for the B1B or any kind of special orders? It also has a mopar spotlight so Im wondering if maybe it was a special order govt/service vehicle? we're trying to figure this stuff out since its still a bit to cold to start working on it. thanks Edit/Delete Message
  4. I think the 49 is the same style, ill try to get a photo as i know we currently have the cover plate off that area. probably be monday before i can get the pic though
  5. Awesome! Ordering one for my dad as an early xmas present tonight
  6. What wheels will fit with the 1/2 B1B? I know that its 5-5.5 pattern, but looking on craigslist adds thats not always mentioned. Right now we have 3-16inch and 1-15 inch wheel (thats off of a trailer), and dont have hubcaps, and would like to just get something that looks better. Would like to get something from 1980+ that was original to Dodge but dont know if theres anything recent that had that pattern. thanks
  7. Just started searching different sites for this, but so far I have only found the rebuild kits. is there still anywhere you can get the front/rear brake cylinders as complete units and not just a rebuild it yourself kit?
  8. Well we managed to get the truck running, amazingly on the gas that was in the tank, and even more amazingly it has for sure not run since 2002. Have a few questions: 1. The temp gauge seemed to be working, but the temp went above 212. We know there is coolant and that its not leaking and is being pressurized in the system. Any ideas? We weren't able to drive it at speed as it has no brakes yet, just trying to do basic tuneup/adjustments till we tackle the brakes. 2. How much voltage should the generator be putting out? all we saw was 6, i expected it to be around 8 or so. I know we have a few loose wires somewhere and im sure the terminals could use a good cleaning. thanks in advance
  9. I'd love to get my hands on one, just cant afford the triple digits. count me in
  10. thanks for the welcome. wish this forum had been here 12 years ago when we did the first Dodge. Glad to see theres others who are restoring these to. Like i tell people, the Fords and Chevy are cool, but the dodges are so unique and rare its more fun to restore.
  11. Just wanted to say hello to everyone in the forum, newbie here from Colorado. Me and my dad just hauled home a 1949 Dodge B1B-108 that's needs a full restoration. We did one back about 12 yrs ago, and got the urge to do another one being that I'm a lot older and know a lot more and can actually help out this time. Looking to keep it as original as we can, has the correct T142 Engine, so hopefully we can get it goin. Going to try to do some research and see if i can find out its history, it has an interesting 2 tone red/blue interior painted (i think the outside was orig blue, hopefully figure it out once we get some of the house paint off) and has a mopar spotlight as well. I'm pretty trigger happy with the digital camera so I'll be getting a million pics during the restoration process.Heres a picture of her as it she is now, hoping someday it'll look close to brand new.
