  1. That is what I was afraid of..... thank you!
  2. After I rebuilt the engine for my "42 P14C, I installed it back into the car and bolted it to the transmission. Afterwords, I realized that I had not positioned the clutch fork assembly and I cannot get it properly into place now. Is there a trick to getting that sucker clipped in place or do I have to remove the clutch-transmission to get it together? Thanks! Kim Nicholas Seattle
  3. We just finished totally rebuilding the engine on my '42 Plymouth. What is the best oil to use (type, weight, brand) for the initial start up and brake in? Kim Nicholas
  4. It is a manual choke. I can get measurments and let you know. Kim Nicholas
  5. I am looking to replace a Ball & Ball D-6 G-1 carb on my "42 coupe. Does anyone have connections? Will any of the other D-? G-? carbs work? Thanks! Kim Nicholas Seattle
  6. For increased safety, I want to put a dual master brake cylinder in my 1942 P14. Can someone recommend where I can get one? Kim Nicholas Seattle
  7. I am rebuilding the engine in a 1942 Plymouth Special Delux P14. What color did the factory paint those engines?? I am trying to keep this as "original" as possible. THank you. Kim Nicholas Seattle
  8. I need a crankshaft for a Plymouth/Dodge 230 engine. I talked to the cranky folks at Vintage Power Wagons, and the cost of shipping a crankshaft to the Seattle area is outragous. Does anyone have a connection to someone on the West coast to save me some shipping cost/ Thank you! Kim Nicholas 1942 Plymouth Seattle
  9. I am in need of a new/nos crankshaft for a 230 Plymouth engine. Can anyone point me in the right direction? THank you! Kim Nicholas 1942 Plymouth Seattle
  10. thanks to all that offered help. I got the drum off - all it took was a bigger sledge hammer. Obviously, I was being too tentative and wimpy. Kim Nicholas
  11. I am having a heck of a time getting the rear brake drum(s) off my '42 P-14. I HAVE backed off the 3/4'' bolts on the back, and the drum rotates freely. I am using a heavy-duty wheel puller and the sucker still won't come off. I have not yet heated it up for fear of doing damage. Anyone got any ideas? Kim Nicholas Frustrated in Seattle
  12. Let's try this again....
  13. I tried to upload some photos with the little mountain logo but it requires a script input that I can't get to work. If you look at the little photos and squint alot.... Kim Nicholas
  14. OK guys & Gals. I have been studying the parts book until my eyes are crossed and I cannot find the part number for this rusted bracket(s) in my 1942 P-14. I am trying to attach a photo - I hope it works. This "L" shaped bracket bolts onto the frame next to the brake master cylinder. It points laterally and bolts onto a rubber insulator on top of a heavy lateral bracket. The bracket in question then bends downward and bolts onto the body at the point of the front door pillar. I need to replace both driver and passenger side brackets before I weld in replacement floor panels. Any help is appreciated. Kim Nicholas 1942 Plymouth P-14 Second owner. Seattle
