  2. Right and left rocker panels all made and tig welded in. Braces all made, welded, and installed. Next, body comes off the frame. Anybody put one on a rotisserie?
  3. Any special tips or tricks I should know about in removing the hinge and springs on the trunk of a 1948 Dodge D-24? Springs look like they are under a lot of tension when hinge is in the up position. Any advice would be appreciated! Don't want to blow out any lights in the garage! Thanks……..
  4. Yes, these are the little critters! I believe the part number is: 623 370 nut 623 368 washer
  5. Hi! Does anyone know what the real or correct name of the special nuts on the outermost studs on the intake manifold? If the few vendors that have them and charge an arm and leg for them have them, where do they get them? Chrysler didn't make them so where did they get them. They have to be used on something else. Anyone have any information????
  6. Can someone tell me how to post pictures on the site that are two big in jpeg. All my pictures that I want to post are over the limit in size so any help would be nice. Thanks!
  7. E:\SS850327.JPG E:\SS850326.JPG these are 2 pictures of the copper intake and exhaust gaskets that i made for the D24...
  8. Took the heater valve apart this afternoon 'cause it was leaking antifreeze. Inside was full of sludge and muck. The leak was traced to the shaft seal in the housing. Has anyone replaced this seal and if so can you supply a part number and manufacture of the seal that you used? It looks pretty standard and straight forward to me ---- but what could possibly go wrong! Any help would be a BIG help! Thanks! JOHN
  9. Hi! Can anyone help me out on the correct torque for the intake and exhaust manifold nuts on the 230 engine. I have a couple of different numbers that I have found but they don't match! Waiting to hear from someone! Thanks. JOHN
  10. For what you save in money at the pump it's not worth it. It gives less mileage for one thing and it's shelf life is about zip. In my way of thinking it is just plain crap! I store my antique cars with either Sunoco 110 leaded fuel, it has a shelf life of over a year and half, or AV100 --- it's shelf life is very close to Sunoco. Sure, it costs a bunch but so do parts, and I would rather drive my cars than take them apart and fix what the E-85 screwed up!
  11. Does anyone have any information on how to restore the red paint that is on the name tags on the starter and generator? My tags are in great shape except for the red paint is faded and scratched. Any info would be most helpful! Thanks! JOHN:)
  12. Has anyone tried woodgraining their own window trim and the dash of their Dodge D-24? I found some good rear quarter windows, but they need to me woodgrained to be perfect. Any ideas?????
  13. Hi! Is there anyone here that has changed the inner or outer rocker panels? I am scraping the undercoating off mine and have found some holes and was wondering if anyone has change the whole panel or they just patch them. Also, does anyone have a source for the panels?????
  14. Hi Again! The hinge part I am trying to remove is the piece the slides into door box through the door skin. I have the 4 phillips bolts out and have knocked the door hinge pin out. I the inside part of the hinge in the door moves a slight amount but won't come out of the door. Any ideas or tips????? Is the cove plate and hinge supposed to be one piece or are they separate???? Thanks!
  15. Hi Everyone! I am in the process of restoring my D-24 and was wondering if anyone has had the rear door hinge out of the door on their car. I have used PB-blast and Kroil and still can't get the hinge out of the door. They are supposed to slide out with the little cover on --- right? I think mine has rust behind it and it only will move a little bit. Any tips or tricks?????
  16. Has anyone here put there D-24 body on a rottiserie to paint and repair? I need to remove the body now so i can restore the frame and powder coat it. The frame is in excellant shape but want to remove the undercoating that is peeling so water doesn't migrate under it. This car has been in the family since 1948, grandma's car, so don't tell me it isn't worth it ----- it is!
