I just noticed that my amp meter in my 1946 Plymouth is moving to the plus side a lot at idle (when revved it stays still) The only thing that I've done recently is tighten done the generator (bottom bolt was loose) Could this mean the belt is too tight or is the voltage regulator going bad or something else. The battery seems to be o.k. Thanks Kacee

Any suggestions I'd apreciate. Thanks Kacee
  11. I have a 1946 stock Plymouth, and sometimes the valves "tick" when engine warms up(then lessens), I was wondering if in your experience adding "lead" to the un-leaded gas would help? You guys/gals are the best..gonna drive my P-15 now. Kacee
  12. On my 1946 Plymouth (it has the stock 218, and 6 volt system) I cleaned all the electrical connections as suggested by fellow members, to fix my (won't start when hot situation) and now it starts when hot but..now sometimes the starter keeps on spining. I have to disconnect a battery cable to get it to to stop. After that it stats like normal. My question is 1. Do I need a new starter? 2. Is there something needing lubrication? 3. Other? B.T.W. This did not happen before the connection cleaning..coincedence? Any help you can offer would be appreciated. Unclekacee Happy New Year.
  13. My 1946 Plymouth, starts right up every time..but after the car warms up and try to start again, theres nothing, no "click" no sound at all, when I use my trusty screwdriver to "jump" it, the engine cranks and starts. I've already replaced:confused: the coil. Could it be the coil wire? Or something else. Any help would be apreciated. Merry Christmas Uncle Kacee
