  1. oh man...now I'm really wondering if that part of the trans harness is correct or not...hmmm.
  2. I was told cables were thrown on and cranked until the 6volt battery was bubbling fluid out of the top. So, since I probably need a new regulator where would be the best place to pick one up? I also own a 1951 desoto S-15 2 door, would it's regulator work on my 1950 S-14 4-door? How do I check the points to see if they're ok?
  3. Here is the wiring diagram from RI Wire. Hopefully you can read it, if not I will upload a bigger picture, anyways the wires I could not find are #'s 1-7. Hope somebody knows. I was told the harness is an exact replica of the original one so you would think they went to something but it did say it was for the "hydraulic transmission" so maybe it's different. Just wish my car would start and drive. If the starter turns the engine and everything seems ok but no spark whatsoever what do you guys think it could be. Everything else is hookep up exactly where it says to be. I hooked a multimeter up to the regulator and it drops from 6volts to 3volts when trying to start. And reads .023 volts at the coil so something is wrong. I was told previous owner jumped it once with his 12volt daily driver, would that fry something causing it to have no spark?
  4. I do have the shop manual by the way and the way the schematics are I just don't know where it's actually at.
  5. Hi guys, and gals, This is my first post on here although I have scoured over many many posts while building my 1950 desoto. I am currently stuck with my wiring. I ordered a harness from RI Wire (6volt stock replacement) and I have not been able to locate where the last few remaing wires go. I am stuck with the trans harness. I hooked up the passenger side of the trans and kept going with hooking up the rest of the trans harness to the coil and then im stuck. I can't seem to find the (forgot the name at the moment sorry...will check the diagram as soon as I get home) it's the trans regulator I beleive?? It has five wires going to it. I was wondering if anyone knew exactly where it's mounted because I purchased the car missing alot of parts so it just may be gone. Also I have got the car able to turnover and evrything just no spark am I right to think it is because the fluid drive trans has the ignition interrupter switch and all the relays so by not having it hooked up it won't fire? Please help guys trying to get it done for our big Car show week here in Reno, Nv Hot August Nights. Thank you for your time
