I was under the impresion that the down draft tube or blowby tube created a vacume to draw air into the crank case and out the breather but I like the way you put it comeing in the breather and out the downdraft tube make more sence I guess I should have thought about it longer but I got concerned with all the oil loss this is the first time its happened Iv had the car for about 14 years and this has never hapened befor I did put a diffrent cap on when this happened and put the old one back on after I saw all the oil on the dist and starter and along the block I cleaned the block a couple years ago and was planning on painting ti but ran out of time we drive the car durring the summer and have a lot of fun with it and winter I am busy with other things but not this winter the motor is comming out and the head is getting shaved if the comp is good Ill leave the insides alone maybe give it a valve job and put hardend seats inI should have the block boiled to get the baked on crud out so I can run reg oil in it well Im rambling so Ill stop now thanks for the info I have some place to start
