  1. Has anyone done a body swap of a 2 door D24 sedan with a late model car? I have some frame issues, brake issues, motor and trans issues and of course wiring issues however the body is in pretty good shape. I would like to move this body to a late model car instead of parting her out. If anyone has done this any help in what will work will be appriciated.
  2. Hi everyone, I've got a 1st series '49 that I bought and have never got it to hear it run. I got it from a local school auto shop and the instructor told me that he thought it just needed a new coil. They put in new spark plugs, changed the oil and got the engine to turn over by hand. It still has the 6 volt system but the wireing looks pretty bad so I think it needs to be replaced. I want to upgrade the gauges so I'll eventually be converting to a 12 volt system. My question is now that I have gotten a new 6 volt coil can I crank the engine with a 12 volt battery without causing any harm? Like I said I'm going to go to 12 volt so I hate to invest in a 6 volt battery just to hear this thing run, I've got a lot of work to do before I get roadworthy. Thanks for all your help and expertise.
  3. I'm new to this and I am trying to educate myself. Can anyone tell me what the P15 and the D24 means? The P and the D are pretty self explainatory but what about the numbers? Thanks
  4. Does anyone out there know where I can find out the production numbers on a "First Series" 1949 Dodge D24? I just bought it, a 2 door sedan, and I understand that it is the same as the 1948 but it was only made in Jan and Feb in 1949 and then the body changed. If anyone can help I would very much appriciate it. Thanks
  5. Does anyone know where to get replacement floor pans? I just bought a Dodge "First Series" 1949, same body as a 1948. Any kind of help in the restoration process will be greatly appriciated. Thanks
