Do you need to flash or polarize a generator after a rebuild? If So how do you do it? This is on a 41 Dodge , 6 volt, positive ground, stock system. Thanks for any advice

Would like to know what color is standard for a 41 Dodge engine and transmission (Flathead six with fluid drive). Is this paint available and possibly where to get some. Would any pictures be available of what the power train looked like new? Thanks for any feed back guys.
