how do i find the orig exterior color of my 1948 ply coupe i will be painting soon.i have limited knowledge as i am a first timer

I want to install an original floor material on my 1948 ply any suggestion

1948 Plymouth coupe it is the break cylinder all original except paint i plan on a repaint and interior redo unfortunately previous owner cut the dash grille to fit a modern radio hope to find replacement grill i am new to this but I want to keep it as original as possible wish me luck

Found an opening on the driver’s side floor I slid back the cover found a twist off knob contains some kind of fluid anyone know what it is
