My 1937 Plymouth P4 business coupe was bought with the front end sheetmetal in pieces and now trying to assemble same i am at a loss just how the hood attache's to the body . . The parts book i have does not have a picture or description of a part that could hold the hood down . i'm referring to the center section not the side panels

i bought a 1948 218 that had been rebuilt but never installed for my 1937 P4 Plymouth business coupe . After starting for the first time i ended up with about 8 qt's water and 4 qt's oil in my drain pan .What / Where do you reckon the problem lies ?

install a 1948 dodge 230 into 1937 plymouth P4
Jc Deluxe P20 replied to Jc Deluxe P20's topic in P15-D24 Forum
the 37 was a 201 , 4 bolt -
will the 4 hole 1937 flywheel bolt up to a 1948 dodge 230 8 hole crankshaft without drilling ??
-
The engine started ok . I cannot fine tune with my timing light until i install a thermostat and an upper radiator hose .
-
the vacuum cannister is not hitting the block . i have full movement of the dist. the clamp bolt will allow . i took a round file and filed both slots a little and can now adjust the dist so that the points are open but the rotor is pointing towards 5 / 6 towers on the dist . i'm gonna try to start it or at least use my timing light to see how close to right the timing is .later today .
-
i have the #1 piston at the top of compression stroke , i have the timing mark lined up on the crankshaft . When i install the distributor with the bolt in place to secure the dist. to the block i don't have enough dist movement to have the points open .. i tried adjusting the plate underneath the dist but no help . what should i do ??

Has anyone filled their cooling system with white vinegar to remove rust from the cooling system ?? I have used it on items i could fit in a paint can and it did remove rust . How ever i learned not to try to clean a master cylinder , it ruined the bore and i'm afraid of unknown consequences if tried in cooling system.

thank you dodgeb4ya
