  1. Would there be someone on this forum that can, or recommend a someone to repair a BXVD-3 carburetor? I received an email from someone who does however lost it. It was either from this forum or eBay possibly. Its for a 1948 Dodge Custom Fluid Drive car. Thanks.
  2. Are there any reputable rebuilders/exchangers for this carb? I tried rebuilding mine however there were some jets that could not be removed so I am skeptical of performance. Car has sat for 20 plus years. Thanks. Shawn
  3. I rebuilt this carb with a carb kit however two of the check valves would no free up. One under the dash pot and other within the bowl but not under the accelerator pump. i have left them in for the moment and was going to try it in the car. If is determined to replace them, would it be wise to carefully drill out? The brass sides have of the blade slot have almost been stripped off. Thanks,
  4. What carb kit do you have? I purchased the Hygrade 101A and the gaskets are not matching between the base and second level.
  5. The carb is apart. I managed to get two more brass screws out with some of the tips posted. Car had sat for many years. Was not running when I got it. Fuel tank was rusted out and lines were really bad shape. Here are some pics on the bench.
  6. Thanks to all. Will try as recommended.
  7. This car sat for many years and am trying to bring back to life. I have the carb apart and have sonic cleaned etc. There are three brass screws at the bottom of the I am thinking will break if I need it enough pressure on them. Have tried soaking with penetrating fluid however wondering if they are really necessary to remove to clean 100%? Advice much appreciated.
