Thanks bud, I don't know what the truck is ratio wise but I believe it to be 4:10 or lower, as best I can see the P15 junker is a 3:90 better but my plan is to find that Chrysler 3:54 and us my P15 3:90 for the truck. I know I have to remove the axles but do you think the axle splines will match between the truck and the P-15? Now Nobody needs those parts I saw out there? Ok, thanks everyone, I'm on the lookout for that Chrysler 3:54

Ok, low crawl scrape and clean complete. The 47 P-15 was a 3.90 rear, the 55 Ply I could not find a ratio on. BUT When I took various measurements it seems the width of the 41 Dodge Truck and 48 P15 are the same only difference is the spring perches, car is below and truck is on top and the truck perches are much closer together than the car. When I rotated the yoke on the rear on the 47 P15 marked 3.90 I got 4 rotations yoke to 1 rotation on the end of the axle shaft. On the 55 Ply I got 2.5 to 2.75 yoke revolutions to the one revolution of the rear axle? The 55 Ply rear end is too narrow.from drum to drum 52 3/4 and the P-15 is 54 3/4. Oh well, tempting to get that P-15 rear out of that junkyard and throw it in the truck, but that is a lot of work to clean it up and do all new brakes, bearings paint and what not. I will hold out for a 3.73 for my P-15 and if I find one put it in my P-15 and put the old 3.90 in the truck. Yes Don it is he Scott Does anyone need a good 218 engine block head, rear fender, air cleaner or set of bumpers and guards for the P15 they are in that yard.

Here we go again. Anybody know before I start crawling around in junkyard? I have a 41 Dodge pickup with 4:10 rear and want to do better higher ratio. I have 48 Ply with 3:90 and want a 3.73. Now the quest for knowledge. I found a 47 P-15 and a 55 Ply Belvadier in the Modernday Junkyard (Do you believe it! right next to one another). Will either one of these fit in the 41 Dodge truck? Will the 55 fit in the 48 P-15? If the 55 is to narrow for the P-15 can I swap pumpkins? Now all this asked but I have not but will do the following; Measure the widths on all rear ends and verify the ratios as well. But was just wonder what knowledge we had going on out there. Thanks everyone, when I retire I will have more time to stay on the board more it has been a while. Thanks for all replies and knowledge....Hi Don!

Yes I did everything you could do to the brakes hoses, lines, wheel cylinders, shoes bearings seals, master this was 2004 -05. Just have not gotten the use since I took on a house projects and few jeeps, tractors, Dodge pick-up still not done. Yes the guy has desoto engine blocks. He also has an overdrive if someone is looking for one.

Ok all right all right...new I would get little sympathy...This was a new resleeved master and the only thing going against me has been time and sitting not a lot of drive. I know these thing effect the masters, but I have several vehicle some 15 years same amount of use and no leaks at all. Thanks for the clue on pulliing without pulling the pedals I will pull the bitch.....I will bet that cylinder is clean and smooth and more than likely the flush and kit will solve it. I know there is no sludge in there. I will let everyone know. I know I do have one wheel cylinder so will need to do that. Best source for wheel cylinders???? Can't wait to bleed the damn system another fun project...at least I have the one man bleeder screws they help alot. Still have yet to adjust the float valve in the carb and possibly install a electric fuel pump to test if I had a vapor lock last summer ( see last post). One thing I have never done is pull the gas tank....I wonder if there is any junk floating around in there, never see anything in the fuel filter but wonder if last summer the fuel line at the tank may have had a temporary block from stuff floating around in there. When I finally get the carb, brakes and overdrive in I plan to drive from Salt Lake City across Rt.50 "lonelest road in America" across the gold rush towns in CA to the coast at San Fran. Then up Rt.1 to British Columbia, Victoria and over to the top of idaho and then south back to Salt Lake. Hope to do so maybe at the end of August or maybe weekend after Labor Day. Talk soon Guys Thanks. Scott. Been rambling. Oh ran into a guy who has two long block flat head engines for free here in Salt Lake come and get them. He said they are long block 218 ci? 1936 - 1937? didn't knnow they made long block 218's Thought they were the larger ci?

Getting lazy with so many projects,,,,but has anyone ever done a master cylinder service without pulling the cylinder off the car? Hate pulling the pedals and lines hope the guts change and a flush will work. Got some leakage at the master cylinder push rod. Funny one day there is a puddle and a empty cylinder after a long drive and a over night park. Fill it up drive around and then only a few drops the next night? Figured I would swap the cups out and see what happens before I pull the entire thing and possibly send off for reline. Thoughts anyone? Thanks has been a while since I have been on. Getting ready to put a 1940 tranny with overdrive in this summer, looking for a new original carb if anyone has one. Thanks Scott

No issues at all in cold weather. Will check float level and put electric pump on close to tank with an on off switch and wait for the HOT summer see what happens. Did have a great weekend of driving but at the end of the week master cylinder leaked all fluid over night? Bump I hate bleeding and pulling that damn thing?

Yes good info, I do have the heat shield on and my heat riser functions good. I picked up the airtex 6 volt pump from rock auto....But i will drive it this week while it is cold and see if I have any issues. I will adjust the float and install the pump for the hell of it. yes the car P-15 48 is all stock original.
-
Thanks guys, I think I will adjust the float level and use a electric pump to keep pressure up....love over kill. Think I will try the pump first for kicks, Also will drive it now that it is cold and see if it does it at all before putting the pump in. Thanks very much for the talk.

Wow love to ask questions with you guys out there. Don't know what happen this summer. BUT it was bloody hot 97-98 and the engine ran good for 10 miles maybe once it burped then I made a stop idled for 3 minutes in the bloody sun shut it down came out 5 minutes later started right up but then only got 500 yards and she died and would not start. Left it came back 3 hours later still not start fuel down the carb and boom she started? Anyone recommend a 6 volt fuel pump???? and what pressure am I looking for? Thanks! Scott 48 P-15 and 41 Dodge pickup.

Was thinking about putting a 6 volt fuel pump before the mechanical pump to help prevent vapor lock in summer heat thoughts? or should I by pass mechanical for good and go 100% electric? recommendations on pumps available? 48 P15. Thanks everybody.

Thanks Guys, Be bop 138 on that 52 Chrysler, did it use the standard carter B&B ? I have a later Chrysler but it has two electrical leads on it and I read that it has something to do with the fluid or automatic drive??? How long ago did you bench that carb and do you think it is ok? Tell me about the carter webers for $75.00???? are these new reproduction, should I try one of these? Reg Evans, that Stromberg looks cool but it say fluid drive??? does the stromberg have any electrical leads on it??? Think it would work in place of my Carter???? if its NOS in the box, think the accelorator pump inside is dried out??? Appreciate all the help I really want to keep moving forward but the truck must run before I go forward.... Don, Thanks, Ill look George up. Nice photo of the Dodge, I would like to post some more in the state it is in. Still don't know how to post photos anybody want to try to tell me how again???? Thanks everyone.
