oldmopar Posted July 12, 2008 Report Posted July 12, 2008 Shel if they did not tell you about the lease in the ebay listing ebay may actually help see the link below Ed http://pages.ebay.com/help/tp/isgw-buyer-protection-steps.html Quote
dezeldoc Posted July 22, 2008 Report Posted July 22, 2008 Careful with that! I bought a portable ham for our race car from a guy on e-pay and got it and it was burnt so bad when I opened the box it stunk to high h-ll! He had already decided that I had this other radio that was burnt up and just bought his to get his for free, and that I was scamming him! Funny thing is another buyer e-mailed me and warned me about him and said he was a nut case! turns out he was right!! anyway had to file with PP to get him send the item after 3 weeks and no radio, then to get a burnt up one was the last straw, filled with PP again for not as described and off he goes on his rant about me scamming him from the begining, well he got his burnt up radio back and I got my money back shipping included!! (sorry kinda jumped to the end and back to the begining) I don't buy nothing unless it is by PP at least you have some kind of recourse. Quote
Allan Faust Posted July 22, 2008 Report Posted July 22, 2008 Shel, File a complaint with paypal. You have up to 45 days to do so, so do so as soon as possible. Add any emails you sent to the seller and tell your side of the story... he has to respond. If he doesn't, paypal will still decide what to do (normally in your favor with all the emails etc...).. I've always dealt with paypal that way, and I've never lost in cases with deadbeats like that. Allan Quote
NatesSedan Posted July 22, 2008 Report Posted July 22, 2008 Wasn't me! Paypal and Ebay should be able to get it squared away for you. A hassle none the less. Quote
Ed Griffin Posted July 22, 2008 Report Posted July 22, 2008 shel, even if it works out in your favor it does not mean you will get your money. I purchased an item from a seller off ebay but used paypal to exchange money. The guy never sent the item and I went through those same procedures you are. Everything was found in my favor yet the guy only had $2.50 in his paypal account so the claim is pending (means I can kiss that $100 plus goodbye). That's been aprox. 2 yrs ago now Quote
dezeldoc Posted July 22, 2008 Report Posted July 22, 2008 Give pp a call and talk to them and explane to them and have them put the notes in the file. I did that and gave them the threating e-mails he sent me, and they said don't worry he isin't going to win. 3 months later he did it again and boom he is banned! so far I have helped get 5 jerks off ebay.I have no problem letting ebay or pp know how I feel and helping to get rid of the scum. Plymouthy Adams Posted July 22, 2008 Report Posted July 22, 2008 The e-bay and paypal programs have not teeth except to bite an honest [p-ersonin the butt...the crooks know they are not going to have to come through in the end...just get the money, quickly spend it oon an item they want..leave no balance and go about their business leaving you in the wind..I am sure we all have had an e-bay deal or two a tad on the sour side...I had one that took over two months to get complete...however that was a custom/mail service more than anything else..the seller sent me a note to tell me to PLEASE file a complaint to protect my interest even though it would look bad on him...wish all people were that considerate... dezeldoc Posted July 23, 2008 Report Posted July 23, 2008 I got one now, bid on and won an industral sewing machine with table, description says 150 shipping, I pay then get a note saying congrats you won now the bad news, shipping is going to be 277.00:eek: I check ups they say 181 so sent them a note, now to see what they want to do. I think they did not get enoigh for it and are trying to make some up, ain't gonna happin! they did say they would let me cancel and not leave me a negative, I guess they don't know the new rules. I am not going to be a hard ass but I am not going to be taken either. Quote
dezeldoc Posted July 24, 2008 Report Posted July 24, 2008 Well the guy calls and says he put it on a pallet and enclosed it with 4 more and said it weighed 330# I told him take some pics and take it apart and send the head and motor in one box and fold up the table and box it up and send it in two packages and shipping should be no more than 110.00. he thought I would not be able to reassemble it:rolleyes: told him don't worry that won't be a problem, so I should have it by the end of next week. shel_bizzy_48, as far as leaving him negative his discounts are based on that and it will take away any he is getting, if pp was tied to your credit card call them and make a claim with them. dezeldoc Posted July 24, 2008 Report Posted July 24, 2008 Here is another thought ,how can he sell something that is not his? Put it to pp that was and say he does not own it and therefor how can you be held liable for it, how was his ad worded? if it said he owned it and it was clear then it is not as described case closed. I had to get nasty with pp and go to a supervisor to get results try that. Quote
old woolie Posted July 25, 2008 Report Posted July 25, 2008 Sounds like a good place to stay away from. If you can't buy and sell face to face then I guess you take your chances. Quote

dezeldoc Posted July 26, 2008 Report Posted July 26, 2008 I was not to nice to the first person when they tried reading off a prompt and I let them have it but when the super got on it was different, he was alright and gave me some good advise and I think helped get it done. glad things are starting to turn around for ya. I think it is like going to the DMV, it is a game and you just got to find your way around the maze! Quote

dezeldoc Posted July 27, 2008 Report Posted July 27, 2008 It is if you tap into it!! If they came through my yard and would not give me cable it would be a shame when it got cut from doing yard work. Quote
Ed Griffin Posted July 27, 2008 Report Posted July 27, 2008 hey shel what service directv or dish network if you have directv do you have HD? if so i can help you out with a box Joel, dont you still need a card or code for Directv to work in your area? Just curious because we need another HD box for son's room, wait, no we dont, dont want him to get too comfy. Time for that bird to spread his wings dezeldoc, from the center of the road to so far into your property actually belongs to the city or county, whom ever provides the service. Better dig a hole on your property, not theirs if you planned to do a "woops." shel, would you please email or pm some of those hard to get paypal numbers? I'd like to find out about my approved "pending" claim and ask some questions. Hope this works out for you in the end. Quote
dezeldoc Posted July 27, 2008 Report Posted July 27, 2008 Don't need no stinkin' cable anyway. Come Feb 2009, with my new digital converter, thanks to the government, I will at least still have 1 of the "networks" left with my local channels over broadcast TV. It will be a very nice pic, and will reduce the need for channel surfing. WOW their is still someone other than me that has an antique TV!!(well in the shop) Quote
