Merle Coggins Posted April 28, 2008 Report Share Posted April 28, 2008 Is anyone out there using a fuel level sender from Roberts? I got one from him a while back because the one I had was bad. This weekend I installed it, but I noticed that the arm is shorter than the original. I figure worst case scenario I'll have more gas in reserve when the gauge shows empty. Any input on this? I also added a grounding stud to the sender to ensure a good ground. I just drilled a hole in the plate and put a screw up from the bottom. A little sealant and tighten the nut down, and now the sender can be grounded. I then ran a wire from it to one of the trans cover bolts. Now all I have to do is run the wire to the gauge and fill 'er up to see if it'll work. Merle Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Norris Merle, The end of the bar on the sender in my coupe was rusted off and the float was missing (not even in the tank) when I first got it. I soldered a float from a carburetor onto the end. Merle Coggins Posted May 5, 2008 Author Report Share Posted May 5, 2008 I thought about adding legnth to the shaft like has been mentioned, and someday maybe I will. But for now it's installed as is. If I get fed up with inaccurate gauge readings I know what I have to do. The Roberts part number should be T364, and is shown for '48-'56 trucks. Lists for $85.
