sjaakslinger Posted Wednesday at 02:37 PM Posted Wednesday at 02:37 PM Does anyone know what size studs were used on the Chrysler straight 8 manifolds? Length and thread sizes? Thanks. Dennis

andyd Posted yesterday at 11:33 AM Posted yesterday at 11:33 AM If you are having a problem finding manifold studs that have BOTH the UNF and UNC thread on the same stud as I did here in Australia I ended up getting grub screws or studs the correct length(1 & 1/4" and 1 & 1/2") albeit only with the UNC thread all the length but instead of $9.00 each with the 2 different threads the UNC threaded stud was $1.50 each which meant that they screwed into the head or block in your case and just used a normal UNC nut to hold the manifold on.........as I needed 16 studs the price difference was $24 against $144........guess what I chose?........andyd 1

Plymouthy Adams Posted yesterday at 01:37 PM Posted yesterday at 01:37 PM most any hardware store will have these studs in stock....question is will they have enough. Good news is there is usually more than one hardware store in most average sized towns. I replaced the studs as JUST BECAUSE last engine I prepped....local store hand what I needed...oh, for sure a few cents more but you not waiting for the postman to run either. Never in my life have I had the coyote's (Wiley) great mail order service.
andyd Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago Plymouthy.........your hardware stores must be MUCH better than those here in Oz.....lol....the local 2 hardware stores wern't worth jack ****..........lol.....only metric crap and the 6 auto parts stores wern't much better.......the specialised Bolt & Engineering shop could get the studs with the 2 threads but at $9.00 each I decided to just get the single UNC threaded allen keyed ended studs or grub screws from them which as stated were only $1.50 each.........they worked fine..........andyd
